| Re: Limit on 2 Doubled Identical Coupons - How do you do multiple transactions? If I use a self checkout (SCO), I'll do 3-4 transactions... but only if there isn't a line of people or if they are particularly busy. If I use a cashier, I'll normally only do 1-2 transactions and make sure that before they start ringing my first transaction I say, "Hi, Sarah (name on nametag). I have 2 separate transactions, if that's okay?" They don't mind and appreciate that you have taken the time to address them as a person by using their name, and that you are asking if it's okay. I've never had a cashier say, "no, you can't do that." DH hates doing multiple transactions and would rather take things out to the car and shop for the second transaction. (What a waste of time! LOL)

| Re: Limit on 2 Doubled Identical Coupons - How do you do multiple transactions? I typically go to a Uscan. I do 3-5 transactions at time there depending on how busy they are. I go to two different Meijer, so I usually just have to go into each store once. If I have to go to a cashier I won't do over 4. I did once do 6 very small ones with a cashier and she didn't even bat an eyelash. I also try to ask before I put my items up, but sometimes that isn't possible. I just mention nicely that I have a few transactions.
If someone comes up behind me, I always let them know that I have more than one transaction and coupons to go with them. That way, if they start to get mad about it, I remind them that I did warn them. Usually they either walk away or say okay that's fine.
I will say that most of the time, the cashier way is easier. Anymore with the uscan, it needs intervention more than once throughout a single transaction. That gets very old with the cashiers if they have to come over for a bunch of transactions. Yesterday, it kept saying I needed assisstance while I was scanning my items. I am used to it while scanning coupons, not the actual items. With the cashier though, you run the risk of all the coupons not being scanned. It seems every time I go to a cashier, something is missed.
I have been couponing at Meijer for a while now and I have never had a cashier tell me that I can't do more than one transaction. I do think that 6 was definately pushing it, but there were only 2 items in each transaction and I was time strapped. I have to travel a little bit to get to Meijer, so I couldn't just go back later.

| Re: Limit on 2 Doubled Identical Coupons - How do you do multiple transactions? I've been shopping at Meijer in Lancaster, Oh for 5 years and have never had a problem til today. As I was using the Uscan, an associate told me that since I was using coupons, I was only allowed one transaction. After she got the manager, I was rudely told that Meijers was a business and that only it was store policy. Sooo, I did one transaction, put it in the car, did another, put it in the car, the made one last transaction. All while smiling. Does anyone know what the store policy is for multiple transactions? |

Does anyone know what the store policy is for multiple transactions? | Most clerks are fine with two transactions, but the older ones usually balk and complain. The older clerks in that store tend to be rude and will unpack your bags to check every single coupon against your order. A couple of them complain mightily if your OOP cost is small change. You would think that the savings came out of their paychecks!
What I do in that store is to go through a line with a teen-age boy and ask him to ring up two separate transactions. I'll take them to the car and come back if I want more items. It's a pain in the butt! You can redeem an unlimited number of coupons $1 and up, though. |
