Meijer ~ Other: Meijer-Empty Shelves for One-Day Sale

I made a trip early in the day to Meijer.

This was before lunch.

They were out of all the cereal for 99 cents, all of the ALL detergent, and they didn't even have extra space set up for them.

Are they not ordering for these sales? Anyone else experience this?

I didn't expect it since they had limits and it was earlier in the day.

For the store I shop at it varies each time.
During the last Northern 1/2 off Super Sat sale there wasn't any limit and people were leaving with carts full of t paper and there were other customers waiting for more to be set out and it got kinda ugly. This was before 8 am too.

Yesterday they had tons of t paper, All and chicken. I did not check out the cereal though. They did not have the All in the center isle, but had an extra cart of it in the isle.

The store where I shop is usually pretty well-stocked. But, I'll admit that I normally get there pretty early for the one-day sales. I'm an early morning shopper anyway...because I hate navigating through crowds with a shopping cart!

However, I had a busy morning yesterday and didn't get to Meijer until around 2pm. I didn't look for the cereal, since I have a "tower" of it in my storeroom. But, they had plenty of All and TP, which were the only things I looked for.

I wasn't able to get any All either. I asked for a raincheck and was told they don't give them on Saturday sale items. They only had photocopies of the ad and the fine print was blurry, but I checked when I got home and it didn't mention that. I wish I had taken it with me because I would have fought for one. Anyone else have this happen during Saturday sales?

Mine was the same way. Out of just about everything I went for. I sent an email complaining about it. You shouldn't have to get to the store at 6 a.m. to take advantage of the sales!

At 10 am, I got 2 All, but there were only a few bottles left. They still had cereal, but I have experienced that problem before.

I wasn't able to get to Meijer until about 5 pm, and the two main things I went for (ALL and chicken) were wiped out. I asked a guy in the meat department about the chicken and he said "we are sold out, get a raincheck at the register" so I did. Then I was put on the spot. I had not gotten a raincheck at this Meijer before (and not at any Meijer in at least a few years) and apparently its all computerized and you have to know Exactly what you want the raincheck for as in Small and mighty or the 2x all, and the Exact scent you want. I just figured it would just say All detergent and I could decide what kind scent I wanted based on what was in stock next time. Was kind of crazy. The raincheck printed out like a little receipt from the register with a barcode and states can be used at ANY Meijer.

I think they pretty much always sell out of everything given my cashiers response when I asked for the two rainchecks. She yelled "I am surprised we have anything left!" since I was able to get oranges and frosted flakes while I was there.

Both stores I went to were out of the cereal. I was so mad. I guess from now on I need to go right when they open. I did notice that the only item I saw that had extra spots for it was the pop. Usually they have pallets set up for the sale items, but not this time. On a side note, did everyone's stores run out of the Meijer re-usable bags. I thought they would have an abundance of these, but no, just the little rack by the entrance and they were long gone.

You're lucky, my store won't issue rainchecks on Super Saturday items :(

i'm not a meijer shopper,
But yesterday morning i was going someplace right across the street from a meijer.
I got there at 10am-ish

I grabbed the last 2 bottles of all.

I was very surprised that it wasn't stocked more.

i have no idea about cereal. I didnt even know that was on sale
