Isn't the competitor coupon thing a store by store thing? I am curious if anyone has been able to use a Kroger catalina at Meijer in Cincinnati. Please post if you have. Thanks in advance!

I never met a coupon I did not like.
The Meijer Coupon Policy I mentioned was emailed to me back in April from two different people within Meijer Corporate and is a company wide policy that all stores should be honoring. I was having trouble with the cashiers accepting Mealbox coupons and manufacturer coupons together so I emailed Meijer requesting a copy of their coupon policy and explained the problem I was having. The person who originally got my email replied right away with a copy of the policy as I asked but then forwarded my email to the Mealbox Coordinator. I received an email from her the next day containing the same policy along with a paragraph where she herself directly addressed the problem I was currently having. She suggested that I print the email along with the coupon policy it contained and take it with me when I shop incase I have any future issues. I didn’t pay lots of attention to the details of the policy at the time because she answered the question I had, so I have never tried using a competitor’s coupon before of any kind even though I’ve had the policy for months.
Some stores may not be aware of the policy or may have decided not to follow it. Some companies allow such decisions to be made at store level, but then their policy usually has that exclusion in it or they simply don’t have a company wide policy at all. I feel that if it wasn’t a policy meant to be company wide with no exceptions I would have received an email stating that it was up to each store and that I should talk to someone at the costumer service desk. Instead I received the same policy from two people in a matter of fact manner, and was advised to contact them again if I continued to have problems.
Still, the store can still refuse even after seeing the official corporate policy. If that happens to me today I plan on emailing corporate again, of course that won’t help me today but it may clear the way for future deals.
