Next week’s ad is up on another site, between it and all the matching Cat deals there are some really good deals coming up. But I’m about to pull my hair out with the way these Cat deals work. 95% of them say “Limit one per transaction”, but doesn’t explain if that means limit one from the same promotion or limit one period. So I’ve been redeeming just one per transaction. So if I was to find four of five promotions next week that produce Cats I will have to do four or five transactions the following week to use them all, that is if I stick to doing each promotion just once and only have four or five Cats to use. Then there is the issue of purchasing the products that produce Cats that week and whether or not the Cats will print if I use Cats from the previous week from previous promotions to pay for them.

I have four Kraft Cats form last week and I want to do the Kraft deal three times this week and the Maxwell House once, so the shopping trip I have planned for tomorrow looks like this.

4 - different transactions just to use the four Cats I have now. Will not be purchasing anything that produces Cats because of the concern that the new Cats will not print if I use Cats to pay, even with Cats from different promotions.

1 - transaction for the Kraft promo and the Maxwell House.

2 - transactions to do the Kraft promo two more times.

My DH is going to flip, it hates when I do that. But seven is not that big a deal if the store isn’t busy, I go through the u-scan, the orders are small, and I use a card to pay. But imagine trying to calculate several different Cat promotions into that each week. If there are four different promotions in one week and you wanted to do each one four times you would have sixteen Cats that you would have to use separately on sixteen different transactions. Add additional transactions for any Cat deals available that week that you can’t use Cats to pay for, and multiply them by the number of times you want to do each promotion.

This has my head spinning but I really want (need) to do these deals. I meant what I said in another post that I couldn’t afford to give up, that there’s always a way. But we’re going to have to start sharing our experiences dealing with these Cats so that we can figure out how they work.

There are two questions off the top of my head that I’ve been trying to get answered for weeks now, I even emailed Meijer this morning.

(1) Most Cats say “Limit one per transaction”, but does that mean you’re limited to redeem one Cat from the same promotion per transaction or one Cat per transaction period? Has anyone successfully used multiple Cats from different promotions in the same transaction without beeps and such?

(2) More Cats are having the exclusion "Additional coupon will not print when this coupon is redeemed in the same transaction." That came form a Kraft Cat, would a Kraft Cat print if I used a Cat form another promotion to pay? Would the Cat from another promotion print if I used a Kraft Cat to pay? Cat users at Walgreens have been doing this type of rolling for years now.

check the cat:

If it is a store coupon (single bar code) then you can only use one of that type per transaction to redeem. For example you can use Kraft cheese $3 cat and Max House $4 cat in one transaction to pay for your order.

If it is a MFQ cat- has typical barcode then you can redeem as many as the cat states. Most state that you can redeem one per order some do not have that wording.

In a nutshell, you can redeem one cat "type" in your transaction. You can redeem store cats and MFQ cats in the same transaction.
