QUESTION Meijer-Question about the "new" ad

"Our new ad is just the tip of the iceberg. Find thousands of items in store to save you money."

It's hard to tell, but it feels like there are fewer items in the ad. Does this mean that they aren't printing all of their sale items in the ad anymore? Does this mean that I'll have to spend MORE time in their store (if I choose to) tracking down sale prices and changing the plan/budget/IPs that I worked so hard to organize?

Has anyone been to the store yet? I sure hope they don't mean this.

I think they are just referring to their price drop program.

I don't like the new ad at all. I'm planning to email / phone and voice my concern. I make my list and do my coupon matchups at home because I shop with my 3yo! I want to get in and out of the store, not putz around and try to figure out what is a good deal and where my coupon is.

From what I can tell, no there are not many more sale items other than what is in the ad. For some of us who have had the smaller ad for awhile now it does not always contain the same deals as the big ad.
There were random price drop signs though, kinda reminds me of Walmart. :shrug7: It is really hard to make a plan ahead of time if you don't know what is on price drop and for how long, not that the price drops are huge. I am thinking for those of us who still have doubles those will be the next to go. From what I read Kroger is not doing 1.00 doubles anymore in stores close to me.

Edited to add: Must be many places got the new ad because I see no one started a new thread for this weeks "deals"!

I was wondering why I haven't seen the thread yet. I have a few deals written on my list; just need to do match-ups. My hope was that I would see a few more on here.

So is there an actual real ad in the store? Or is just these "mini" ads which contain nothing?

I got it yesterday and I hate it. There is not much in there at all. I must say, in the last year I have not been impressed with Meijer.

I'm with all of you. The new ad format stinks! I noticed right away when it came yesterday that it looked odd and the grocery part wasn't as big.

I don't get why they say there is more on the website. I looked for 30 plus minutes last night. It is all the same items. I sent them a comment via their website. I have two small children and cannot spend hours looking at the price drop tags.

I don't like it. It looks to me like they're trying to follow Kroger's lead. You know...."Here are some sale items...come in the store and look for the yellow tags (price drops) for more savings."
