FYI FYI: Meijer Mealbox Policy according to Meijer

I had THE most frustrating trip to Meijer on Monday when a cashier refused to scan my Meijer Mealbox coupon because I had a manufacturer coupon with it. I explained the wording on the coupon and she still refused and then proceeded to Customer Service where I got the same treatment. I then emailed Meijer to complain about my experience and got a prompt answer back from the Meijer Mealbox Coordinator.

I just thought I would post the response so if need be you can keep a copy with you if you ever have any issues...

    Dear Sandra,
Thank you for letting us know about the experience you had. We are deeply frustrated with the way you were treated as you ARE allowed (and encouraged) to use manufacturer coupons with the MealBox coupons. We will be using your story to specifically address the problems that you and other customers are seeing at the store level. I apologize sincerly for the way you were treated and I hope it does not deter you from the MealBox program and Meijer all together. Please feel free to use the following informtion below if you have any further problems. Let me know if you have any other issues or questions and thank you again.

To help clarify the redemption of the MealBox coupons please know the following:
1.) Mealbox coupons may be used in addition to Manufacturer coupons
2.) Mealbox coupons may be used each time a condition is met, which could be multiple times per transaction. (For example: a coupon for $1.00 off 2 Soups can be used multiple times if you have a coupon printed and the number of soups purchased matches, i.e. 2 coupons = 4 soups.)
3.) Mealbox coupons cannot be doubled or tripled at any time.
4.) Stores have the right to limit the quantity of items to normal retail purchases per transaction.

    MEIJER COUPON POLICY
We accept manufacturer, Catalina manufacturer, Meijer, Catalina Meijer, internet and competitors’ coupons within certain guidelines. For Meijer, Catalina Meijer and competitors’ coupons the customer pays any applicable sales tax on the discounted price. When a manufacturer or Catalina vendor coupon is presented, the customer pays sales tax on the full retail amount; and we rebate only the value of the coupon. We do not issue rainchecks on out-of-stock vendor coupon items.

Thanks! That's nice about the competitor coupons. Probably meaning like the cats from Kroger, etc?

I have never used a $oyno cat from Kroger at Meijer, but I have used the cat coupons from Kroger (ex: .75 off Starkist tuna pouch/ $1 off Crystal Light, etc) at Meijer with success. They need to be pushed through by the cashier.

I have also used the Kroger personalized MyMagazine coupons at Meijer with no problem, but the cashier has to push them through.

I have never tried a RR at Meijer.
Honestly, most of my manufacturer q's beep at Meijer anyway - I don't know why. This is why I avoid Uscan like the plague!

I'm interested to know if anyone has tried Walgreens RR at Meijer too. That would be great if they took them.

This morning I took one of my $1 OYNO cats that I got from buying Halls at Wags into Meijer and bought something for $1.07. I checked out at the UScan and IT WORKED. I had to manually enter the barcode using the same enter code function that I'd use for typing in produce codes... but the register said I only owed $0.07!! Coupon went into the coupon box and I gladly paid the 7c. Don't know how cashiers would react... but the UScan didn't have a problem =)
