Meijer-Big Price Differences between Ads

I get two Sunday Newspapers delivered to my house, The Detroit Free Press and the Ann Arbor News. I was shocked today to see that the Meijer ads in the two papers have BIG price differences. The Detroit area Meier stores have the Kelloggs cereal on sale .50 cheaper and the Tide $1 cheaper than the Ann Arbor stores.

I have notices price differences before, but these ads shocked me. You better believe I am driving to the nearest Detroit area store this week.

That is a big difference! It makes you wonder...if that's just what you noticed in the ad, what other price differences are there??
I noticed this week that my Colerain Meijer had Lipton Tea, 48 ct. for 2.07. The Harrison Avenue one had it for 3.39.

Doesn't seem like much...until you take into account I am buying five boxes and have MB coupons/Manu coupons. I got the tea at Colerain for 7 cents a box. It would have cost me 1.39 a box at Harrison.

That's pretty common. The ad that I view early online usually has stuff cheaper than my ad.. Milk, for one, which is .40 cheaper.. it's just regional differences, or competitive difference, anyway.

Mine is the opposite. The ad I viewed early online had milk for $1.98. The milk in my local ad is $1.59.

Meijer prices vary by market area... depends also on what stores are in the area.. one of mine has a Walmart next door so their prices are lower than the other one that has no competition nearby..

Me too but the ad I seen the milk was 2.49ish and I thought -WHAT!?!? but ours was 1.49 I though maybe they have no cows where the expensive milk was (ha ha).

Other stores do the same thing. I saw this at Walmart stores on our trip.

Like the previous poster they base the prices on the competion they have in the area.

I knew they charged different prices in different markets, but it just seemed so WRONG that both of these papers arrived at my door with such huge price differences.

I was also wondering what other price differences I would find.

Totally agree it is amazing how much differences can be... living in the midwest I am used to "relatively" cheap produce and milk.... I am floored when I see people posting from the east coast about milk on sale for $4 a galllon and a great deal on a $5 bag of apples etc.

Oh my gosh Sue, I never noticed! I may start shopping the Canton store instead of the Ann Arbor one!
