Meijer on Preston HWY and their coupon policy Meijer seems to make up their coupon policy as you go. I was in there this morning and I had 47 coupons....19-2.00 off any A1....11-1.00 off Kelloggs cereal.....9-1.00 Snickers Ice Cream and 8-1.00 off M&M's ice cream. You would have thought that I was robbing the store. Half way through my order the cashier had to come over and open the coupon bin and look at my coupons. I offered to match up my coupons with everything that I had coupons for. She said she was just protecting her job and the register wouldn't let her approve anymore coupons. The coupons were going through fine. Nothing popped up on my screen asking for approval or nothing, yet. She checked them out put them back in and said ok. I asked her if I needed to speak to a manager and she said no. I told her then that I had more coupons and how mnay and their value. She ignored me or so I thought. I went on scanning my coupons making sure that she seen me scanning and depositing everyone. She picked up the phone and called someone. No big deal right? At the end of my order it said approval needed, no surprise here, but she said oh my it won't let me do anything. She said I called someone she will be right here. Ok no big deal I have nothing to hide. So the so callled manger goes to the uscan station and has a huddle type talk with the cashier. The manager comes over and looks through my order on the screen walks back to the uscan station comes back and gets my coupons. I once again offer to talk to a manger and match up every coupon with my product. No not necessary she says. She then goes into this big spill on how "SOMETIMES" the register will only allow a certain number of items. I just gave her a weird look. To make a long story short they approved everything but it was a hassle.
I was not stealing anything, I was not cheating! I deposited every coupon but yet I was made to feel like a criminal. As I was walking out of the store the so called manager and cashier was in a huddle going through my coupons. I stopped again and asked if I should talk to a manager and she looked ta me and said I am as good as you get. Attitude huh? I told them that I wanted to make sure that no one thought I was doing anything wrong that I could match up every coupon with every item that I had purchased. I paid 42.00 total I had 66.00 in coupons plus I received $10 off a backpack. So a total of 76.00 in coupons. I guess they thought I had saved to much. This goes to show that Meijer makes up their coupon policy as they go. Give me Kroger anyday!!!
