I have the same problem at Meijer! Actually, last week the self checkout employee called a manager because (I guess) she thought I was buying too much Chi Chi's salsa. Two workers came over and told me I could only purchase ten bottles, even there was no listed limit in the ad. They brought another cart over and took the other jars out of my cart!

We have one too. My friend and I shop together every week and actually look forward to getting the "Coupon ****", because we know we are legit and she ain't going find no fraud with us! A few months ago, she saw us coming to the self checkout and darted over to the end of my lane. She stood there and watched everything I scanned. After I scanned my last item and went for my coupons, she asked if I scanned the pop that was in my cart! I told her that she knows I did because she hadn't taken her eye off my since I started checking out.

I then started scanning my q's. Got almost through the whole stack before one beeped. She jumped on it like a dog on a bone! I started bagging while she was looking for the product and while she scanned the rest of them. She actually started looking through my bags to make sure I purchased the items I had q's for, even though she had already watched me scan everything to begin with!

But this one takes the cake! After all that, she opens the coupon machine and starts looking through the ones I had scanned without problem! I asked her what the problem was and she said they are cracking down on coupon fraud. That was the last straw. I told her to get a manager, then I said nevermind, just give me my coupons back and I'll go to another Meijer. She finally relented and just left me alone.

I filled out the survey as well, but never heard from the manager. But we have noticed the last couple of weeks that she has been in the "10 items or less" checkout. Maybe they figured she wouldn't cause problems there.:shrug7:

Everytime I read these posts I am so thankful for the Meijer's around here... my absolute fave is the night shifts at the Otsego/Plainwell store.. they are super helpful and know what they are talking about usually ... I have shopped there on and off on my way home from work for several years.. I think several of them have been around awhile cause I usually recognize some familiar faces.

I haven't had to much trouble w/ cashiers..but I defintely prefer to go in the eveing. Seems those people don't question you to much. I try my best to be legit in every coupon deal I do and I do get on the offensive when they question me (of course in my area they probably have a legit reason to)

Sounds like these cashiers like to bully people. I suggest that you stand your ground and be sure that every coupon you use is correct down to the last detail.

In all fairness, there are a LOT of people who try to scam coupons, so cashiers have to be aware of what the rules are and what's going on. That's not to say some cashiers aren't bullies, but the majority are not. It's our job to get the rules right as much as possible.
