Hi there :) I did self-checkout yesterday (probably my mistake!). The attendant had to come over for the Kraft Salad Dressing and she said none of them would work and handed them back to me. I asked her why and she said that I would be getting them free and they had just had a meeting with their store manager (Meijer on Harrison) and he said QUOTE "We are NOT in the business of giving things away for free - we are in the business of selling." and that they were not supposed to honor the coupons if we were getting items for free. I asked her to get a manager, which she did. After a bit of discussion between the two (of course, he never talked to me directly), he manually entered the coupons and I got my stuff for free.

Not an issue if the price is lowered to $1.58 as it is in other Meijers. But, we'll see! Headed out again today :)

    Default ADVICE please?

My most frustrating Meijer trip - EVER!
    I bought - 12 Kraft Dressing
    Used 12 $1.50 off mfc
    AND 12 $1.00 off MBQ
(I bought a whole slew of other items as well)
Wanted to use the Buy 2 Kraft Dressings get $1.00 off produce coupon and was told NO that I was trying to use 3 manufacturer coupons on 1 item, I explained that one coupon was a mfc, one was a STORE coupon, and the other was not off the dressing but off produce. I was still told NO, went to Customer Service and waited 30 MINUTES in line to be told "oh yea they called us about you we are not taking those coupons - you can't do that" (ugh they couldn't have pulled me aside and told me that rather than making me wait for half an hour in line?!). I tried explaining my point about the difference in the coupons and was still told I was trying to use multiple coupons for the same items and you can't do that. I was also buying beef to go along with the A1 coupons I had ($2.00 off A1 mfc, $1.00/2 A1 MBC - then a seperate $1.00 off beef wyb A1) - they wouldn't let me use those either again saying I was trying to triple dip manufacturers coupons on the same item. (I made her return the meat at that point).

I have not only done this many times before with the dressing & produce at other stores but several times right at the same Meijer without a problem.

Was I just "getting away" with using these together in the past? Or am I right in my thinking? I just wanted some confirmation before I contact HQ on this one - the cashier & CS were both rude & rushed being very short staffed, and waiting the additional 30 minutes really screwed up the rest of my day so I'm a bit about the whole thing! I've dropped close to $300 in the last few weeks at that store and it's the main grocery store I frequent, I've had problems there in the past with one cashier giving me crap but I just avoid her now.

Same thing here........I was SO SO SO SO hoping for the overage on the salad dressing but the cashier came over to the u-scan and price modified everything......and then they threw a big fit about the produce coupons........ended up getting the produce but not without a big struggle

I had a similar situation last night. I bought (among other things) 2 A1, used a MB for $1/2 and two of the $2/1 MQ's. I also had two of the $1 off beef with A1 purchase. The register said "too many coupons" and it had to be manually overrided.

The cashier at first tried to tell me I had to buy 4 A1, but I eventually convinced her that was not true by showing her the specific coupon language. Maybe it was because I nicely suggested I could just take then to customer service after she had checked me out and see what they said about it?

    Not an easy transaction though!

I did get overage on the MB Q's - Now that I'm more calm I think I'm going to go ahead and contact HQ just because of the treatment I recieved. It afterall wasn't really about the coupons or the $$ but the treatment I recieved that made me so mad, I'm very tired of being treated poorly at that store when i spend so much $$ there.

Just curious...was it Mealbox coupons that they said they wouldn't honor if you were getting it for free? If they refuse to honor their own coup, wouldn't that be a situation involving false advertising?

And what about other MFG coups that make an item free? It's not like accepting those type of coupons hasn't already set a precedence for customers to get an item free. Seems like a big inconsistency there.
