Meijer-Sandy the 1 penny pony is back!

Guess what brightened my day today?!?! Seeing Sandy back in our store! This was our daughter's incentive to be good during our shopping trips and I am thrilled to see her back! No dinosaur, but a brand spanking new pony! Ever since she dissapeared my daughter has asked where she went, now I don't have to answer it anymore!

So if you still don't have Sandy, there is hope that she may appear soon to a Meijer near you!

Sandy is back at ours to. My daughter was so happy. I was telling her she had to go to the vet. LOL

Awww, I'm glad she's back. Every store should have one...great memories made, great PR for the stores.
Sandy never left our Meijer. I think there used to be 6 of her but a few have been put out to pasture. LOL
Our local grocery has always had a Sandy also except she's a quarter to ride. It's highway robbery!!

I have mixed feelings about the pony..good bribe..but by the time I make it thru the store..the last thing I want to do is a round of pony rides..lol. I was surprised when they told me they took them out due to lead.

ours is back as well. my daughter was talking about riding the horse. I was mid-explanation about the horse being gone now...when i saw she was right! now i have to try to remember to keep pennies in the van. but i'm glad to have her back. i love the small things that give kids big thrills. that stage just doesn't last long.

I wonder if they work like the old ones did. My son would put 5 pennies in at once and get an extra long ride. Perfect for my long checkout times. Ours had one at the Uscans and he would ride while I checked out. Perfect for those times when he feels the need to rearranged the gum at the checkout. Our Sandys were hardly ever used though. I hope they bring them back. I swear I never saw anyone use them except for us. Maybe the other parents knew about the lead.

I work at Meijer in Springfield, IL. Sandy came back a few weeks ago. Sandy is free to ride, with the help of a green button. When you press the green button first, it says something about thanks for riding Sandy and be sure to watch your kids. Then the ride is free.

My kids love riding that pony. On some days we are lucky and there will be a greeter at the door handing out pennies as we come in! I tell the kids to hold onto their pennies and when we are done they can ride the pony.

I love that the ride is only a penny and about 75% of the time they are handing them out to you at the door. :)
