Default Homemade Corn Dogs

Homemade Corn Dogs

1 c. flour
2 Tbsp sugar
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2/3 c. corn meal
2 Tbsp. shortening
1 egg, slightly beaten
3/4 c. milk
1 pound frankfurters

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in corn meal. Cut in shortening. Combine egg and milk; add to above.

Insert a wooden skewer or popscicle stick into end of each frankfurter. Spread hot dog evenly with batter. Fry in deep hot far (375 F) until brown, about 4 - 5 minutes.

I have baked mine before. Matter of fact one of the easier things i have done before is just mix cornmix in a square baking dish and lay hot dogs in the batter and bake. Then you just slice and cut.

I'm not sure about this recipe though but i may try it some day.
