I had one older lady (only cashier working) show me a memo that said they could only take one like coupon once. It looked to be something typed up by that individual store and it was so old it was yellow. I knew it wasn't official Marsh policy and I was only using 3 like coupons!! But, I have been couponing a loooong time and it wasn't worth a battle that day (at least not to me) for some free pasta. I knew I could get it from another cashier, another store, another week and without a hassle. So, I left my cart and all the items I was going to buy right there and said, "Never mind, have a nice day."
I'm not sure what part of Indy you are from, but this is something you are very likely going to run into at Kroger and at Meijer, too. Marsh tends to be high priced if you are not sticking to the ad, but I personally wouldn't write them off over one transaction. With time and experience you will probably find that have to pick your battles. This isn't one that I would pick, because all the stores do limit to a certain like number of coupons and it is very likely something you will run into again and again.
I shop the New Palestine Marsh most often. They are very coupon friendly. Never had any issues there. But, on the rare occasion that I would be using more than 5 like coupons, I would most likely be making multiple trips. It is usually easier IMO to come back later, or tomorrow, or go to the next location. If it is a reeeeaaallly good deal, I might buy 5, take them to the car and go through again.
