Re: My letter to LOWES.. Ladies please read.. My husband tells everyone I am the brains in the outfit . . . I manage our finances and while I am no wizard I am better at it than he is. I am also the one who buys the cars in our family. I have a job that requires me to get a new car every three years (or the money I get from my employer towards it gets taxed). I bought my first new car in 2005. I only buy Hondas and wanted the hybrid Civic. I was lucky to find one at sticker price because they often go for more. I dealt with a dealership I was not familiar with because they were one of the few that had them in stock. I did get them to throw in a few freebies like wheel locks.
Well this year I needed to flip the car (they go by model years). I went to the Honda dealership my family has dealt with since 1979. It is 40 miles each way. My father bought from them since I was a kid as has my sister. I introduced myself to one of the GM's and mentioned my dads name. I let him know I was ready to buy the car that day and was pre-approved for a loan. He just needed to give me a salesman who wanted to sell a car that day.
I knew more about the car than the young man did. It still took 7 hours but I drove home that night in my 2009 Honda Fit Sport. I need to spend a certain dollar amount (based on my employers allowance) so I added some things like LoJack, an alarm and a cargo cover. My note payment is $5 less than it was on my Civic and I love the car. I just hit the 3,000 mile mark.
My family has dealt with Hillside Honda all of these years because of the integrity they have. My sister bought a used Prelude from one of the service tech guys many years ago (private sale) and then her gas tank rusted out. The service manager knew that the tech and my sister (who only took the car there) kept the car in perfect shape with regular service and replaced it for free. I only go there for service unless it is for tires or a battery -- because Dave the supervisor told me those things can be purchased elsewhere for less with the same level of quality (of course you have to buy quality tires/batteries but you don't need genuine Honda parts for these things.
And they have at least two female salespeople that I am aware of.
Great letter and let us know the response.
Maddy
