I did the service plan and I always say they are a rip off. This is my 3rd new washer since 04 and I am on my 2nd refrigerator. Can you say things aren't made well anymore, I do. So $100 for a 4 year warranty was worth it to me.
The other 2 washers I had were name brands like kenmore which ended up a frontload frigidare and then I got a topload maytag.
My dh is very handy and can most anything, but the part for my toploader maytag was 225.00 and that washer was only 399 new about 3 yrs ago. It wasn't even worth fixing to resell. The used place didn't even want it to fix and resell either.

Congrats. Our Kenmore broke down Saturday night, had to get a new one!
So I bought a 4.5 cuft. Whirlpool Cabrio Top load probably not as energy efficient as the front load but it will hold more and reduce the number of washes (family of 7). Got it on clearance for $808 at Lowes.
