CHAT What are you buying at Lowes Foods this week through 3/8/11?

I finally made it to my lowes foods...got a nice grumpy bagger who felt I was doing something wrong so she rang my coupons WHATEVER!!!!
    I got
    6 mini wheats ($1/2Q)
    2 cooking creme ($1.50/1Q+$2/2sc)
1 bag bogo chicken tenders ($1.50 off chicken wyb cooking creme)
1 bag perdue chicken nuggets ($1.50 off wyb cooking creme)
    2 breakstones ($.50/1Q+SC)
1 beef roast thingy that was on sale
    2 ritz ($1/2 ip)
    2 barnium animal crackers
2 super skim milk ($1 off wyb nabisco cookies and milk Facebook Q)
    2 capri sun 100% juice
    1 sargento cheese ($.40/1+SC)
    4 totinos pizzas ($.75/2 ip)
    8 dole peaches (i did 2 orders to use 8 $.75/1 coupons)
    2 matahama rice packets ($.75/2)
    2 LF Tomato Paste
2 lbs lf butter (sc) I am going to give this a try.
    2 Scott TP ($1/1 Q)
    1 Scott PT ($1/1Q)
    2 Quilted Northern ($.50/1Q)
2 LF Mac N Cheese (They only had 2)

Spent $84.88 OUCH! I haven't spent that much in a long time! Found 2 rebate forms and 2 beer tearpad coupons so that took off a bit of the sting.

But then I went across the street and spent $.20 at CVS and felt better.

I feel your pain on the DH thing. If I don't buy DH diet Sun-Drop in 2 liters or cans he will run to the gas station and buy singles . How much are the Chi-Chi's tortillas? I'm running low on those-two packs left. Last night I got this-

    4-Kraft Singles
8-Reese's PB Eggs (yes they are hid from DH-he wasn't in the store with me when I bought them )
    1-Plastic Animal Plates for DS

    $4.27 OOP

Going back tonight for Breakstone's, Kraft Singles, Allen's Veggies, Reese's Eggs and cereal (thanks Val).
I had sanity once upon a time I promise . It was just so long agoooo that I can't remember it.

I tell you, if you can get everyone on an allowance they will be more picky with what they are willing to spend at the gas station...AND your allowance has to match theirs. We do this I was getting $50 a month because HUBBY works in uptown Charlotte and needs to go out every so often...Well he was running short each month so he upped OUR allowance to $75 a month...I have over $100 in my wallet right now cause I hardly ever spend mine...I take that back,I typically will spend it on groceries like I am NOT supposed to. But it is nice knowing I can go buy a pair of jeans (gonna do that on Thursday) or go out to lunch if I so please I have no one to answer to except myself since it is all cash and he won't know. BUT then again,I am a SAHM and sometimes I feel guilty about what I spend and felt I was getting the third degree when I was asked "what did you buy at Target?" And all he wanted to know for was where to put the expense in Quicken.

    But I digress...
I am giong to go back today and get flour tortillas (thanks BETH!), a few more boxes of cereal and peaches since today is the last day they are on sale and I have 50+ Q left and am started to stress that this is the best price I will get on the peaches.

    I digress on your digression:
I'm the one who budgets around here though, and I have my dh on 100.00/month while I live on 50.00. And mine often goes to a kid who needs it for this or that.
On top of his generous allowance, he will go to the ATM and take $ when he runs low. The only thing I can do at that point is to tell him I have to apply it to our savings "envelope". I use Mvelopes so every penny has to be assigned somewhere. That usually keeps him in line since he doesn't want savings to be messed with!
It's hard to put dh on a budget when he's the one earning it, but since I'm the budget master, I have to get tough sometimes.

Okay the Chi Chi's tortillas are on sale until 3/16 so the q's expire on 3/13 (1/16 SS insert). So $1.00 a pack is good for me. Thanks for the deals this week. It's been a awesome week for deals.

the chi chi's tortillas aren't as cheap as I have ever gotten them, but all I have is OEP hard shells..and my little one has trouble with them. they are $1 ac (on sale for $2-(.50/1*2))

I have taken control of the budget and deal with a husband that spends ALOT each week at the gas station, which he completely understated before I started paying attention. I usually spend (on myself or food for just me) less than $20 a week easily. I figure this, he smokes and that money is spent on him and only him(not benefitting anyone in this family) so why can't I spend the same amount?? he obviously doesn't see it that way, and fusses when I go over my grocery budget(while getting seconds on the cheap dinner I fix :/ )

ok vent over....anyways.. I have told him it was better to get some things from the grocery store instead of singles at the gas station. and we could save at least a third of what he actually spends every week. but that will be his responsibility for anything more than drinks.

Budgeting is hard unless your both on board...my hubby will tell you this as I was the one not on board.
We use cash for most everything now. Bills get paid on line and we only use our ATM/Debit card for gas (because we have to use the card 10x a month to get the interest rate promised). I will admit I was a bit annoyed at first (being told what to do is not my thing) but now it is much easier. I spent more when I had a credit/debit card. Hubby couldn't understand that I would spend less using cash and the whatever percent we were earning by using the credit card with rewards I was spending. It is nice knowing we have a lot of money in the bank and don't need a credit card ever again.

Now I just have to get over the fact that we only have 3 cars and 4 drivers, 2 in school and 1 that works which leaves me home without a vehicle....I just worry that I can't get to my HT quick enough on coupon events...and no I am not joking either. Luckily I have a friend that takes pity on me and will come and get me before going to the store at 8am...she gets use of my coupons I don't want/need and my knowledge. It's a win win... She uses the Mvelopes system too they just started the beginning of the year. We use actual paper envelopes and cash.

I am not going to make it to LF today. I went to HT instead...#1 needs his truck to do a job and I didn't want to be gone longer than needed. Hadn't been to HT this sale week anyway and I am SURE I just spent more than I would have at LF...Gonna miss out on the $1 peaches :0(

gotta love those friends :) it's much easier to pay with knowlegde! and we're already putting in all the time to find the deals, it's a good trade to get a ride to the store. mmmm I might need to make a phonecall to my friend and bribe her with super cheap slice cheese and tortillas lol
