My guess is that it is in the new 3rd barcode. As a self-admitted geek, I found a web page that explains the different types of barcodes, etc and there is a section of the barcode labelled as a "Don't Multiply Flag". Unfortunately, this part of the barcode is hidden from view in that the numbers are not displayed on the coupon, but it is likely in there.
As for all Lowes preventing DND5, I am not sure - I went to Lowes on Monday and had
no problem getting an IP DND5 to double, but each store may slowly be converting to the new system. Regardless, the technology is there and eventually all stores will use it so we will have to get used to it. It just makes the game more challenging.![]()
