Anything growing in the hydroponic grow system?!
I'd love the cast iron pans - great score for you!
so long story short my neighbor went off his meds, went wackadoo, lost his job and got evicted. He was in denial about the whole thing so didn't bother to find a new place for himself or his stuff and left with only a backpack of stuff (although i did see him come back later and quickly fill up a mini van). So yesterday they started moving all his stuff out into the yard and told me to help myself because it was all going in a dumpster. He'd been living there for a month w/o water or electricity so everthing was dirty also most of the stuff smelled like dog pee and weed but I got a lot of good junk.

Agree. Nice haul, though. BTW, for the stuff that smells - even wooden furniture; I once bought a cute little pine victorian dresser that had been in someone's stinky basement for a long time. I tried everything: cat litter, aquarium charcoal, regular charcoal. Nothing worked. Before I threw the dresser out, as a last resort, I Febreezed it. And it worked!!! I never would have believed it, but it did. I had to spray all sides, in and out, but now it's usable, and doesn't smell.
Kind of saddened by that story.![]()
I felt bad too at first but everyonr tried to help him and he refused to accept that what he was doing wasn't working. His situation could have totally been avoided and I fed him and let him get water at my house and run an extension cord over for a few weeks until he started knocking on my door at 2am demanding rides and smokes. It's better now. He doesn't have a place to live his, family is commiting him and he'll get back on his meds and act like a sane reasonable person again so I don't really feel bad anymore
Wow, sounds exactly like my ex-husband (right down to running an extension cord to the neighbors' and knocking on their door at all hours) after we divorced! Agree with dianee, it IS sad, but some people will just not let you help them and wreak havoc in other people's lives while refusing any and all real assistance beyond handouts. Consider your haul repayment for what you did for him!
sounds like you made out good....sorry the guy is sick...glad he is getting help...hard lesson to learn is we can't help people who don't want to be helped...had a homeless man who got a check for over $8 thousand and I offered to help get him apt. furniture, etc. and he refused...still living on the street and I am sure the $8 thousand is long gone....
