Super excited for tonights trip :)

Hello all! my name is Stephanie and I live in Southern New Jersey. Any other Jersey people out there!? I've been wanting to coupon for a few months now and have finally started this week! ...I tried to start Labor Day Weekend, got all excited to start clipping and was so sad when I realized there are no coupons over holiday weekends! HAHA

But anyways, last night I went to CVS, spent a total of $16 and saved $28, so I got $44 worth of stuff for $16. Pretty successful for my first trip :) Then I went to walgreens and got a bunch of good stuff, saved $37, spent $32.. not as good as CVS, but was still excited!

Tonight I am going to Acme, they are having a great buy 10 items save $5 and EVERYTHING I am getting I have a coupon for. PLUS I just found out my Acme doubles coupons (I had no idea!!) up to $.99 so thats even better!

Update you tmm when I get back from the trip. woo hoo! <--thats the coupon saving happy dance. hehe

Jen, I will have to check the Shop Rite forum out, it is my primary grocery store.. I just couldn't pass up the deal at Acme.

yes love those mega sales...make sure you get in groups of 10 mega items that is on the sale. I dont have a Acme but if its like Kroger they also have 10 for $10 items dont mix those up with the mega items or it could cost you $ and make sure to check out how many of like coupons they will double in a transaction or day per person or that could cost you $ also.

Teresa ..I wish I saw this before! haha I did end up saving 61% , however, my calculation was off about $15. Rookie mistake lol. They were out of one item that I was planning to get 6 of, so that threw me off too. I wasn't going to question the coupons because Im sure it was my error. I think I had $5 off 10 items confused with 1/2 off or something..the error was something with my math on that deal. I did call before I went and they did double ALL my coupons(just went through my receipt), I think only to $1 though. I hope you see this because you seem very knowledgeable!! How does the 10 for $10 mess up the order? I'm new to this and trying to soak up any info I can get.
I had to get toilet paper and razors (no coupons), razors were on sale but I will say I will only go to Acme for sales with coupons because everything is so overpriced.

Yeah I did pretty good, hope you have a successful trip too! I'm new to this site and it's so silly to me how excited I get over grocery shopping now, and before I would dread sunday, but now I'm counting down the days. HAHA

Its fun! I have been doing this for years now and I still get a high from it. I dont shop as often or as big of tranactions most of the time anymore but I still get that high.There is nothing like saving money.
