Okay, I started couponing two weeks ago with my friend and I wanted to know what you guys thought of my shopping so far. I really just jumped in bc we had some extra money so I have a small stockpile already..

Do you think that's decent for $230? I know I can do better but tax kills us here in Tenn!

I think your haul is GREAT, expecially considering that you are new to couponing. Let's face it, most people out there are not doing as good as what you have done.

You will find in time though your savings will get better and better. When I first started, for example, I was elated to get cereal for $1.50 a box. I deserved a pat on the back for that because most people pay more for cereal than they do ground meat. Now, however, it is not uncommon for me to pay $.50 a box. I never pay for toothpaste, toothbrushes or bandaids and I pay pennies for shampoo. The more you stick around here, the more you will learn from the veterans and the better you will get.

Last year was my best year ever. I literally saved over $13,000 using coupons and there are people around here that leave me in the dust!

Be proud of yourself and your haul. You are well on your way.

Thanks for your reply and the compliment! =) I wasn't really sure if it was great so I divided the total spent by the # of items I have in my stockpile and it came out to around $1.12 per item.. not bad considering I used to pay $4+ just for one bottle of Shampoo..lol I'm pretty happy about it and completely HOOKED! lol My hubby is, too after one trip to Wags $58 spent - $178 saved!

You're welcome. My hubby thought I was crazy at first stockpiling. Now he gets very disappointed whenever we don't have a coupon for something--everything not just groceries. Once you pay $.50 for a box of cereal, you are dissatisfied to pay full price for anything--clothes, car repairs, entertainment, etc.

have to agree, for 2 weeks that is a great job!! $446 is alot of savings. you should be proud!
