goodwill: love them!

i have been visiting goodwill lately as oldest dd is going to need summer clothes. i have 4 in my immediate area with one right down the road from me.

saturday: 4 brand name (gap, childrens place, limited 2) tshirts
2 capris (both gap kids)
4 shorts for dh (his pick) one of which was a carhart pair

today: 1 pair of capri sweats for dd (limited too)
1 tshirt (some crazy brand dont remember)
1 dress jammie for youngest (she said she wanted one)
8 books for me (various homeschooling, canning, cupcake)
2 large I Spy books!!! (today was $18 for all)

i was at target prior to goodwill today and was going to grap an I spy book there but decided against paying $13 for it. then i go and get two for .99 each! i also got a book on tree identification for the kids to learn different trees!

all clothes i have purchased are brand new looking.

Yay! I love Goodwill, too. Ours has Happy Hour Mondays where most clothing is half price between noon and closing. I get really nice shirts for $1.50 and jeans for around $3. I've gotten LL Bean, Levis, all sorts of stuff.

There is one near my house that has nice stuff! They have tons of nice adult clothes there. They never seem too have any good kid clothes though! I usually buy my kids clothes at gap and justice. I can get great deal at justice! Just bought my daughter about 700 bucks worth of clothes for like 80 bucks! I have only been there a couple times because it is like 30 min from my house.

We don't have a decent Goodwill nearby, but we have a huge Salvation Army! Wednesdays everything except furniture is 1/2 off, and I always try to go! Last week I got 3 pairs of baby pants and 4 toddler t-shirts for $7.

You did great:) I went to Goodwill today also but only got a pair of Levi's that looked brand new and fit great for .99. I was ecstatic, LOL I love Levi's but can't afford them new so this was awesome to me. I don't have a "good" Good Will, LOL but sometimes you can find a good deal. I can't believe thought that they can with a good conscious sell a pair of ripped with the whole rear almost cut out pants for 7.49! Those should be in the garbage and I told them that. They said well someone might want to fix them. There is no fixing those pants.

The best Goodwill I ever went to was in a college town... kids moving in & out of the area every semester always resulted in great finds there. I haven't been to as nice of a Goodwill since I moved away.

we are a college town so there are lots of goodies. the one down the street from me gets lots of goodies due to the area. but i found a new one that is just across the bridge from me that has all name brand stuff. i have found justice, banana republic, justice too, gap, children's place etc. i have found that you have to go regularly just to look. sometimes you find great stuff sometimes you leave with nothing.

the one i went too today is great for books. find homeschooling workbooks there and great reading books.
