CHAT You know they finally get it when.....

I have been doing this crazy coupon thing for just about a year now. My husband at first was a bit leary and concerned I was doing something that was not "right". Once I showed him everything was above the board he was supportive, but this weekend he def. showed just how supportive he is. He went to Tiapei, Taiwan for a week on business. The souvenirs he brought back for me were a coffee mug, a stuffed figure of Tiapei 101 and two Chinese PizzaHut magnets with coupons attached. I laughed so hard I cried. He drives me bonkers sometime but I can't imagine anyone else would know me so well.

Share your SO light bulb moment.

Yea, DH is like that every once in a while, lol. He works for a printing company so every once in a while the clients will send back some Q's for them to share w/ employees. DH will bring me home some. It's only been like 3x but still he was thinking of me, lol.

My DH has always been onboard and supportive of my couponing. He is my partner, we both coupon. I am the deal spotter and coupon organizer. But he is always willing to dumpster dive, clip and sort coupons, go shopping (he loves doing the big orders like 4 cases of toilet paper in one trip - 100% free or 200 bottles of free Coke) he also is the first one to fight for my honor should I have a nasty experience with a cashier (rare these days). Also he is a driver for Coke and brings me Coke codes (that I usually give away) as well as coupons that he finds at the stores or that other delivery drivers give him. And he always calls me when he is delivering at Smiths or Albertsons and gives me a heads up on what is in the clearance carts so I can have my coupons ready.

I think the first time I knew he was on board was when I had a slew of $1.00 off Wood winetags and Duraflame logs were $1.00 at Walmart so he went and loaded up the cart with logs. Well the cashier pulled the "One per purchase" junk and told him he could only use one coupon at a time. So he got out some cash and sat between two registers and purchased one log at each register at a time and slapped a nickle down (tax). This held up the line enormously and really ticked the cashier off (one of them thought it was funny). Since then I have never had an issue with the one per purchase line at Walmart and they still remember him as the log guy at Walmart and that was 4-5 years ago.

When I first got into couponing, DH was kinda like, "OK, baby, do your thing." I can't really blame him, though, I do go through "phases" where I enjoy something a lot then get bored and move on to something else, lol. But he's always been supportive. I think the time he really got it was one day at CVS. He watched my total drops from $35 to $1.50 and now he looks for coupons for me and points out potential deals while we're out shopping. It's so cute!

DH had his lightbulb moment the day before yesterday when he was having a bad day and I stopped on my way home and got some free Digiorno pizzas at CVS for dinner.

The log man! I love it!

Dh went with me to do the wipes deal at Target a while back. He got 6 packs of wipes and seperated it into 3 transactions and the cashier rang them all at once then told him one per transaction. He told her it was seperated into 3 and she took it upon herself to ring it all at once, made her void the whole thing and laughed as he paid for each transaction in coins. The lady behind him wasn't even annoyed she found the whole thing amusing and complimented him on his good deals.

My DH had a dream one day while he was napping that I left him because he refused to use a coupon. For some reason it really freaked him out. I think from that day forward he was completely on board.. I would never leave him for that(or any other reason), it is just funny. The other day we were in the grocery store together and he goes a hunting for tearpads and blinkies. He is standing in the aisle talking to some guy that just got home from Afghanistan and my DH is telling him that our son is in Iraq. Anyway the whole time they are chatting, my DH is casually taking blinkies from a machine everytime it spits one out.
