Do not--I repeat, DO NOT--cover the scratch/scrape with fabric! Even if the stove is not gas (open flame), the burners will get hot enough to possibly catch the fabric on fire! If you feel the need to repair the scratch, go to an appliance store and purchase "appliance paint" in the color of your stove. Prepare the scratch (imo, I would sand lightly with sandpaper to ensure adherence of paint) then apply paint and let dry THOROUGHLY before using stove. This will not be a perfect fix, but will suffice with no danger of FIRE! Hope this helps!
