HAPPY DANCE my first stockpile purchase!

This may not be the best deal for the advanced couponers, but for me it was a GREAT deal!

WalMart usually sells Diet coke 24pk for 6.98 each, this week they were on sale for 5.98 each, so I went to ebay and found 1.00 off 24pk of coke prod, bought 10 for 1.00 and got them today- the last day of the sale, so I got 10 cases of diet coke for 49.00 where regularly it would be 69.8... so I saved about 20 dollars by spending a dollar....

So - to the experts, how could I have done better on that deal for next time? Any advice for a newbie? :-)

You did awesome! You saved 30% on Diet Coke. You bought 240 cans for .29. You can't buy a can of Coke for .25 anywhere. I buy my Coke at CVS. I keep $20 in ECB's (Extra Care Bucks) to use for the next week. The rest get spent on Coke. I bought 9 12 packs along with other items for $2.28 in the last 2 weeks. 6 12 packs were bought this week. They are running 3 for 12 this week. I have save 97% on Coke just this week, and that doesn't include the tampons and razor and 10 thing of deodorant that I got. I basically got 108 cans of Coke for .02 and got a movie, 18 ct tampons, a razor and 10 things of deodorant for free. I hope that you have a CVS close to you. I have been couponing since June and just now figured out how to get my Coke close to free. You should be on cloud nine. It took me 5 months to figure it out. You did better than I did on my first stockpile. It wasn't Coke and I know it was less than 240 items. You are headed in the right direction and sooner than I was!

I have posted a few time about the cvs deals. I just cant seem to get it right! which makes me not want to go to cvs but then I read these post of others saving a ton of money at cvs and I wish i could figure out how the extra bucks work. Are you saying you used $20 in extra bucks and got 108 cans of Coke a movie, 18 ct tampons, a razor and 10 things of deodorant for free? That's great! but I still dont get it :(

Default Re: my first stockpile purchase!

This is exactly what I did. Keep in mind that I lost ECB's. This is okay to me to buy Coke. Coke is my coffee. I had $28 in Ecbs' for the Right Guard deal I lost $2.98 in ECBS's. ( Buy it for 7.99 get 7.00 ECBx4). I had no coupons for Right Guard. We all hate aerosol. The Right Guard I bought by using $30.98 in ECBS's I lost 2.98 in ECB's. I bought 12 Dri Idea Pulse, 1 Playtex Tampons, and Shick Razor and 3 12 Packs of Coke. I used $28 (from Right Guard deal) in ECB and $4 (8 x .50 coupons on Dri Idea) $2 ( 2 $1.00 off 2 Dri Idea) and $1 of Playtex. Tax was .40 so I paid .28 total for everything. I still have $20 in Ecb's from Thanksgiving Day to use and I got a $3 ECB for Playtex, $6 for the Shick and $10 for a survey. I lost $9 in ECB ($28-19 = 9) for that transaction. Overall I lost $11.98 (started with 30.98 ended with 19) in ECB. I now have 19 plus the $20 that I originally kept for next week. I will keep the $19 if I can stay out of CVS tomorrow. More than likely I will go back and get 3 more 12 packs and Planters Peanuts (2 for 7), that would be $19 the amount of extra ECB's that I have, so therefore it would be zero OOP. I try to roll $20 in ECB, so the $19 I have is play money to me. I could do better by using the Coke Codes to get B1G1 12 pack or $1 off 12 pack, but the computer is out of ink. Hope that makes more sense. If not ask and I will try to explain.

Or, if you aren't getting it at CVS; make sure you have a store Q. Example in our area, they are usually 5/$50 or a 5/$40 (none lately).

Thats great! Thats something I buy alot of as well, I got my best deal yet this past week at Copps. Thier coke 12 packs were on sale 3 for 9 bucks, so I got my coke rewards traded in and got my $1 off a twelve pack coupon, used it on Wednesday double day, and got my coke for ONE DOLLAR a twelve pack!!!!!!!!! Now I would have stocked up like a mad woman at that price, but they put a limit on it :( I was reading up on sales cycles though and this month is supposed to be a good month for soda, so hopefully I catch a similar deal. If I could get it for under two a twelve pack I would be thrilled :) We'll see!
