I too am in the Sacramento area, but in a small town. Longs is the only "real" store we have nearby. Any of the others are 20-30 miles away. So I only do my shopping at those stores once a week. Makes for a LONG day. I've had good and bad experiences at Longs with the coupons. It really all depends on the cashier and the time of day. They also have a new manager now who I think is going to be better... who knows. I'd like to see more posts on other blogs regarding Longs, but can never seem to find them. Like someone else said, they are all about Walgreens (which I shop at too and supposedly they are putting in around here) and CVS which isn't even in CA. I'd have to go to Nevada for that...

I'm glad I found this group though for help on the deals!

Hi: I'm in Ventura, Ca and I've been shopping at Longs for years. We have 3 here and a couple more in adjoining towns.

Most of the cahiers are q friendly and I've taken in as as many as 18 for like items. I just tell them I'm buying a years supply etc.

I have had some problems buying 99 cent items with $1 q's but mostly everything goes well. They don't seem to have the deals that they had in the past (3-5 years ago) but there are still killer deals to be had. I haven't been on this thread before as I've been winging it with the ads etc. but thought I'd give this thread a look see as well. Looks good.

I'm Terri and I shop at the Longs in Sacramento. It is close to my house and they have cheap eggs!!

Hi all, I am Trix and I live in the Bay Area of California. I have 2 Longs in my town, and get mixed results from shopping there. Sometimes the cashiers can be great and other times they can be horrid. It all depends on the cashier you get I guess. A few weeks ago they told me they would not take my Internet coupon, so I emailed Customer service and asked them to email me a copy of their coupon policy. And this is my reply:

We don't exactly have a written coupon policy available to email but we can let you know that Internet printable coupons are accepted, however they are not accepted towards promo or sale items and if you happen to have a store and a manufacture coupon you can not apply both to the same product, only one. If you have any further questions or concerns please feel free to contact us directly at 1-800-To-Longs(800-865-6647) and a customer service representative will be happy to assist you. Hope you have a nice day.

Which is a little odd since I have asked before and been allowed to use both a store and Manf. Coupon together without any trouble (per the manager). So I guess it really is up to each store what you are allowed to do regarding coupon usage. As far as coupons on clearance stuff goes, My store manually enters the price, so a coupon will not be valid toward that item. POO! I used to be able to get some great deals on clearance items with coupons. I do wish that Long's would have better sales, I find way more to buy at Rite Aid or even Walgreens then my Longs.

I have 3 in town and 1 more about 10 minutes away...but I'd only go there if there were a FABULOUS deal.

I don'y usually shop there a lot because I haven't seen a lot of deals. But I do try to watch the ads.

I'm in Cameron Park, outside of Sacramento but was first introduced to Longs when I lived in San Ramon. I have always, ALWAYS hated their pharmacy and have been left hanging on more than one occassion waiting for them to order a not-that-uncommon drug because they don't normally stock it in the pharm. WTH?

Well, always until CP put in a second Longs on the backside of town and I love-love-love their main pharmacist and their techs. They all get it and Longs doesn't know how lucky they are to have hired those women!

Anyway, I did not realize that they carry the Bee for .99 so thanks for the tip ladies! I'm not a huge fan of the united rebates -- seems like more trouble than they're worth a lot of the time, but I've had a few good ones lately.

If I didn't see it in the weekly tab or the rebates catalog, I don't buy it at longs because their prices are outrageous!

Hello, my name is Heather and I'm also a Concord, CA Longs shopper. I love the $5 off of $25 coupon that comes out in the Entertainment Book. I used to be an avid couponer, and gave up on coupons for about 3 years and now I'm slowly getting back into it. I don't go to Longs very often, but if there is a good sale on multiple items I want/need, I will make a trip.

I am in Concord, CA. The sales are poor lately and the coupons are a mess. I was told by a manager that certain coupons cannot be used on sale items and the coupon does read that. It makes for a substandard trip and not worth my time. Much of what they have is overpriced. I would like to know if the $5 cottonelle Q in this weeks book combined (if I can) with a $2 MF Q is worth it. I hate to even go for the chance it maybe a wasted trip.

CVS bought Long's I hope the policies will take over the current policy.
