if you used two $1/1 coupons and the price was $3.99, your total price would be $1.99, so it isn't that he deducted coupons first... unless he deducted one from the $3.99 price, making it $2.99 and then used a price after a coupon to determine the bogo price...
Where did $2.99 come in? Was the product on sale?
If he just pulled a random price out of his hat, then he is wrong.
If the sale price was $2.99 each, then what he did is right.
If the price was $3.99 and he deducted one coupon making it $2.99 and then used that price for the bogo, then he is wrong and I would call corporate. (Since Longs is so localized and there are so few coupon shoppers there they really don't often know what they are supposed to do, so it helps them and us to call and let them know what happened and why it shouldn't have happened that way!).
