that would be a very long drive for me- we're in Iowa! but thanks for the idea- I'll be checking out the xmas stuff once it hits the shelf! and of course the after xmas sales too!

they have the little bottles of bubbles at the dollar stores here- i think they are either 8 or 10 in a box ( have to get atleast for the kids!)

If you are a member of a church, you often can have access to the reception hall at no charge.

(And the wedding ceremony itself, no charge for the facilities)

I wish you luck it can be so expensive to get married at a hall. A friend of mine got married at her house and it wasnt bad at all! I guess it depends on what you guest list looks like.

I was going to do "kiddie favors" at my reception but we ended up not having many little ones there so I didn't. I was going to get a large clearance basket and stuff it with crayons, coloring books, mini puzzles, etc so that the kids could go and take things out of it to do together. I remember hating all of the weddings I went to with my mom and dad when we were young. All of us ended up sitting at a table in the corner while everyone else danced and talked.

Don't forget Oriental Trading when doing your wedding planning they have TONS of wedding related items and lets of cool favor ideas! I made a post about our "budget wedding" on another board. I will have to go find it and move it over here!

for the reception which is where u spend most of your money. We always did a pig picking. All the fixings and then used the wedding cake in a table by its self. Then guests get to really have fun when you use your home stereo for your music. Make your flowers. use artificial. Then all the wedding party has a wedding favor to show. If you have a doller tree see if they have some wedding supplies. Votive Candles in windows is a cheap decoration. If you want an outdoor wedding instead of renting candle arb. use a large wrought iron candle stand. Home interiors has them, and use magnolia leaves and blooms to decorate. Or running ivy. I've used both and both hold well for the humidity. If you have friends who make cakes this will be your best bet. A friend made mine and saved me about $300. Use white sheets to decorate with.
If you need any more ideas, give me more ideas on how you want the wedding and i'll give you all the ideas i can. If I was close to you i'd help decorate. My parents have had several wedding on there gazebo, and i've done all the decor. for them. None have had the same thing.
