We live in Phoenix and my kids are "freezing" when it's below 78. That being said, I try to keep the thermostat between 70 and 72 during the winter and make the kids dress in warmer clothes. My DH will come home and turn it up though because he doesn't want to be cold. He also insists that his clothes need to be washed in warm or hot water, while I wash all the rest in cold.

Just wanted to add, winter is when we have our low electric bills. Summer bills were getting into the $300's here, but hopefully less next year since we are redoing the house and AC right now.

The 350 dollar a month heats bills just aren't able to be afforded here :) We use the budget plan now and our avg bill is 100 a month :) but still can't put it up to high cost would go up

Now I'm trying the 61 all the time thing so far so good but it's not been freezing just yet! I prefer 65 when awake/home but it's just to expensive and our house is just 1250 sq feet! cape cod!

Holy Cow that is cold! I usually have people telling me that my 68 is cold (I will turn it up a tad if we have company)! I hope you have warm bedding!! Brrrr

we don't have a thermostat, just a dial in each room that turns the baseboard heaters to low, medium, or high. I only turn on the heaters in the rooms we are in and only when I or the kids seem cold. Usually on high till its warm enough then to low to maintain the heat. At night if its cold I will turn on the heater in the bedrooms to low.

Usually 65, and we knock it back to 60 at night.

We LOVE our warm and snugglies around here-- fleece, wool socks, flannel sheets, and comforters. I am used to it (being raised in Northern Ohio) and have converted DH. He used to set the temp in his bedroom to 75 and wonder why he did not sleep well.

Just curious, how does he know if you wash them in hot or warm? I can't tell the difference after they're dried.
