Re: Kroger TX/LA : Only 1 D/T allowed again? WB,
I think some of the stores that were already at 1 d/t BEFORE the Super Doubles foul-up figured out that the registers were doing 3 d/t again ... and instructed their cashiers to only do 1 d/t again. That's the case with the Rosenberg store.
Sadly, managers DO have the authority to do this and, as I told the Rosenberg SM, I have the authority to go to a REAL Kroger instead of giving this PRETEND Kroger my business since he obviously doesn't want it ... AND, I'll buy my meat, produce, and others items I generally don't have coupons for at the REAL Kroger, as well! ... and I have been for almost a year now!
I did go one time since the registers were re-set, but didn't want to start going more often, because wanted to fly under the radar and not mess it up for others ... SM would've recognized me and realize "something" was different if I went there frequently and did serious shopping after re-set. I didn't comment about registers suddenly doing 3 d/t, for same reason! ... just watched and kept my mouth shut! But, the jig is up, so back to driving further and saving more!
I may have to drive further, but it's a lot easier to drive further in ONE trip (AND be able to go to 3-4 REAL Kroger stores in one trip) than to have to go to the store EVERY day just to use my Qs effectively, and then still not be able to use them for the lowest cost on good sales.
So, what I'm saying is: If a store was already 1 d/t BEFORE Super Doubles, it has probably gone back to 1 d/t since the registers were re-set (if SM has realized what was happened).
If your Kroger was doing 3 d/t BEFORE Super Doubles, more than likely they still are (unless SM has decided to be unpopular with customers and drop it to 1 d/t).
So, most of the stores are probably back to where they were BEFORE Super Doubles and the registers being re-set to allow 3 d/t.
(Remember, the gripe about the registers not re-setting was that the registers were only allow 1 d/t, regardless of SM's policy ... ALL of the stores going to 3 d/t was an unexpected surprise, and it was fun while it lasted for the folks going to the stores that had already dropped to 1 d/t!!)
