Default Using coupons at Kroger since d/t policy change

With the change in policy regarding double/triple coupons, it makes it harder for us couponers to save as much as we once did. With that in mind, how are you making up for that difference? I don't know if I'm asking my question correctly but let me rephrase it just in case I don't make any sense (which is entirely possible!!). I know when I use my coupons, I'm not saving like I used to. I could use a $.40 coupon off something and it would double to $.80 off. Now I can't do that. My food budget has increased a fair amount because of that change. How do you adjust for the loss? Do you buy less? Do you try to save in other areas? Are there other ways to use coupons and still save the same amount as we once were (whether it is combining coupons, etc)? I'm just curious because it is playing havoc with my food budget!

I rarely shop at Kroger anymore. I have switched to Walmart, Albertson's (which is still coupon friendly), Target (I love being able to stack Q's there), Sprouts and Aldi.

I wonder if Kroger has lost business by quitting doubling. I know they lost mine.

They still double coupons, dont they? I have not saw that they stop it all together I thought they just put more limits on them.like 2 of like coupons ect..

I dont shop at kroger unless its for the mega sales for they are to high other wise for me even with double coupon. I shop at walmart and sometimes now save a lot..I have to drive 30 minutes one way to kroger so i just price match unless ites a mega sale..

WOW, I'm counting myself really lucky, my Kroger still doubles/triples. I just went today and had quite a few items that I wouldn't have purchased had it not been for doubling or tripling...

They quit doubling in Houston earlier this year and in Dallas just a couple of months ago.

I was just talking to my mom about this same thing today. I no longer spend money at Kroger's If they don't double, I can just PM at Wallyworld. No point of driving the extra 20 minutes. I've only been back once and that was the 1st week they stop d/t, but the only reason I went in was to use the $5/$50...I'm seriously contemplating writing Kroger's about this...b/c not only did they stop d/t, but the sales are horrible!

It was several months ago but they stopped doubling in what they call the "Houston area." That also includes Galveston County but I'm not sure exactly where all the "Houston area" boundaries are.

There was a big brouhaha about it here and on FB but Kroger didn't go back to doubling.

Those that are still enjoying it use it while you can and don't take it for granted!! You may be next to lose it!

I still shop at Kroger but include WM, Randalls, HEB and Target. I'm shopping loss leaders at Kroger only. I make short quick stops at all of the above stores and move on. Loss leaders with a q allows for some nice stockpiling. My shopping at WM has picked up and I hate WM but am learning to love them. They do overage and are getting much better about q. My local Target has increased their shopping area and I'm starting to spend more time stacking. They just sent me another free to get me in their store and I'm game. The free is a Kraft macaroni & cheese shapes item which I need. Last week it was a dozen eggs.

As u know I dont take it for granted for I have to drive 30/40 minutes to get to kroger. I hope that they dont stop doubling at any other stores and I hope that they start it back again at the ones that they did stop it at..

If they did not double at this store I would not go there to shop for its out of my way and I think that their prices is much higher than walmart unless its a good sale price.

Kroger here is the only store I have that doubles/triples. So I'm really hoping that it doesn't get taken away... :(
