Which town, specifically?
I went to use my last 10 Yokisba coupons before they expired and notice it didn't double? It was on sale for .89 and my .50 Q only received .39 bonus match.. I ask the cashier but she was a young teenager looking like she had a hell of a day so I didn't argue too much.. I guess they either messed up or there's a policy change?

I beleive Kroger's policy has changed and there is no overage anymore, just free. At least at my stores anyway.

I've never (in the 2-3 years I've been paying attention) gotten overage through doubling in Arlington...
Before boycotting Kroger, the yakisoba NEVER yielded an overage, as the coupons would d/t UP TO shelf price of item.
Had the yakisoba been on sale for 75¢, it would've doubled to 89¢ (the shelf price)... at least before 4/13/11 when Kroger ended d/t Qs in Houston/Gulf Coast area.
Now, I understand that even the mega discounts don't count toward the fuel points since they're deducted ABOVE the total instead of below ... Between that and face value only, guess I'm not losing anything price-matching at WM! (In fact, several things cheaper at WM BEFORE price-matching!)

From my understanding of the recently modified Kroger coupon policy for this region (should still be located somewhere in this thread from when ZM posted) here are some pertinent points:
- Doubling/tripling (if you're in an area that still does this) will still only go up to shelf/sale price. i.e., no overage. This is essentially unchanged from previous.
- Kroger is now slightly better about overage, overall. They will give overage if the face value of the accepted coupon is above the sale price, and will even refund you money if it comes to it.
- Individual store manager policies/decisions can still trump most stated rules, for better or worse.
