DD3 Kroger mega sale Tx/LA *at least for the nonboycotters

I am really torn about making this post, but as someone I consider a friend told me, I need to practice what I preach. In one of my first coupon classes I stated "Do be loyal to a store or brand, be loyal to a deal!" With that in mind, it is really unfair of me as a coupon and deal finding blog NOT to tell you about deals I know about just because I am personally pissed off at a store. Even when I was boycotting Walmart, if I read or heard about a deal, I told you about it. Keeping with this "tradition" I guess it only fair if I tell you the Kroger deals now too. Just don't expect pictures deal?

Ok, so anyway, for us here in the Southwest region of Kroger (basically Tx and La) a mega deal started on Wednesday (these ALWAYS go for 2 weeks. While NOT everything is advertised both weeks, all the same items are part of the sale for both weeks. If you see something you like that is in the ad and out of stock, get a raincheck then as the next week it might not be in the ad)
So, as tradition with my blog, I am not going to do a ton of matchups and deals. You can go to Kroger's website and review the ad or look at your mailed copy. I am basically gonna tell you what I know to be free or cheap. Whether you choose to shop or boycott is a personal decision you will need to make.

*Keep in mind you MUST buy in groups of 10 to get the price I am listing. You can do multiples in a single transaction, but it MUST be in groups of 10 (I suggest using reusable shopping bags in your cart and fill each with 10 mega items and then on to the next so you don't miscount. After ringing up, you receipt will have a count at the bottom with a [+] , this count is participating mega items. If you are long (got 1 too many) or short (got a 1-2 to little) be sure to go to the service desk before you leave the store. They usually will let you get 1-2 more items and then give you the $5 off!

Thanks for posting ZM, and a big thank you for continuing your moderator duties for the time being!

One other good deal I found was on the Oscar Mayer Lunchables with fruit (but no drink). These were $1.49 after mega discount. If you are fortunate enough to find a couple of the $1/2 peelies, they make for a good deal when you factor in the ongoing cat deal:

    Lunchables w/ fruit @ $1.49 (x4)
    - $1/2 peelies (x2)
    = 99¢ (x4) + $3 OYNO cat**
(so ~25¢ each when factoring in cat)

**edit/update: Finally actually read the cat and it is for meat dept. purchases

As of today Kroger in Crowley is still D/T-ing and I walked away with 56% savings which is not great but OK considering I bought fresh produce and frozen heat-em-ups. They were out of stock on the toothbrushes, the nivea, listerine pocketpaks and they don't carry the Ronzoni Garden variety.

Pharmacy employee was clueless regarding the "Pharmacy booklet" so I ddidn't get the Softsoap. Also, the Mega event includes Ivory Body wash for $1 but it was also out of stock. I have at least 10 Qs for the Ivory so I'll be hitting the rain checks hard.

Is there a limit to the number of items that can be bought with a rain check?

SmartOnes coupons are at Weight Watchers® Smart Ones® - Low Fat, Low Calorie and High Fiber Meals in a variety of ways. I used the $5/12 but there's a $2/5 among others.

Found an even bigger MM on the toothbrushes if you can find the product. The reach access flosser starter kit was marked $10/10 and is part of the mega deal. Buying a toothbrush and the flosser thing with the $2.50/2 Q would net $1.50 overage.

Yay! I was just about to ask if anyone knew if the Crowley Kroger was still doubling/tripling! I will be heading there tomorrow.

Does anyone know the end date for the Mentos gum being $1? It's not part of the mega sale so I was just wondering how long it would run?

The date on the Mentos tag says it's good through 5/17.

In the DFW area, Mega Event extends another week. :)
