I just got back from Krogers. I tried to purchase Pedigree dog food on the mega sale. Gave them my B1G1 coupons, and they would only ring them up at .50, insteas of 1.00. They said that was all I was paying for them after the $5 off, and that was all the credit they could give me on the coupon.

Is there a Kroger coupon policy that states that on B1G1, they should ring up at the full price?

Same thing happened to me with the BOGO coupons - I think it's just the luck of the draw with the cashier that you get. Technically they are $1 per can.... if you bought 9, they would be $1 per a can, but I also see the flip side that with the extra $5 if you buy 10, they are $.50 cents so I don't really know what is the right answer on that one - I'd be curious to know too.

I don't know about the specifics of this regarding Kroger's coupon policy,
BUT if was me I would first point out that the advertised specifics of their mega deal are that you buy 10 items and get $5 back, *NOT* buy 10 items and pay a discounted price (50¢) for each item. The shelf/newspaper price tags are simply printed that way (I suspect) in order to make each item 'feel' less expensive.

Secondly, I would point out they (the store in question) are shooting themselves in the foot. They should be writing 50¢ on the B1G1 Qs if that is what they are claiming the price to be. Would they rather be reimbursed 50¢ or $1 for each Q from the manufacturer? I assume Kroger is eating the cost of the Mega deal (if someone with more knowledge than me knows different, please correct me). Do they really like your (the customer's) money THAT much better than the manufacturer's that they are willing to risk product sitting on their shelves while people go to stores that will deduct the full $1?

I believe since the Mega Deal is printed with the Catalina company then the catalina company is the one that works the deal with Kroger and the Companies.

Depends on cashier, in my experience ... BUT, try this:
    1. have groceries rung up
    2. hand over BOGO Qs and have scanned (while digging for Kroger card)
    3. hand over Kroger card (get discounts)
    4. hand over rest of Qs

and YES, they CAN take Qs BEFORE your card (but be careful ... ones that d/t will NOT d/t if don't give card first) ... there ARE some folks that stop in Kroger but don't have a card -- I've seen them!
(It's just easier for cashier to remember to ask, if they scan card first.)

And, if you look at your receipt, the price that rings up (before card discount) is, to my knowledge, the price they're going to be reimbursed ... particularly since I seldom see a cashier write in the price on the coupons anymore. -- I SERIOUSLY doubt Kroger is going to have someone go through each and every receipt and see if EVERY BOGO Q was part of a 10-ct for the mega on the receipt (instead of a person getting 9 items rather than 10).
I don't bring it up at the store but, personally, I really don't care what "I paid" after a discount ... I care about being reimbursed what the store will be reimbursed on the BOGO! ... that's MY money! I worked hard to get the full use of the coupon!

Also, I've noticed some of the BOGO coupons saying, "list shelf price" ... shelf price ain't mega discount ... to me, isn't even sales price, but that's debatable since they have the tags on the shelf and there is no other requirement (other than your card) to get that price (unlike megas that require a certain # of items be purchased).

Something I also do is, somewhere near where the cashier is supposed to write the price (on BOGO Qs), I go ahead and write the price. Most cashiers I've been to appreciate this already being done ... AND I hand over all my BOGO Qs together, so they know they're done with that part.

Now and then, you're gonna get one that's a PITA but, I just make sure to remember that one and REFUSE to check out with that person again ... even if I have to wait in a longer line. If management asks, I tell the truth, "cashier isn't coupon-friendly, and I use coupons! I'd rather wait for cashier that enjoys seeing a person save money and let non-couponer use the other cashier. -- Makes us both happy!" -- it raises an eyebrow now and then, but it's MY money and time. I want to leave with a big ol' smile on my face!
