ewww!
From the 10/$10 sale about 6 weeks ago......Every stinkin' box - I had about 10. The other pasta, elbow macaroni and twisty noodles and penne was fine. When you look closely, you can see anything can crawl into those boxes, as they are NOT sealed. Ronzoni will be hearing from me.
Yuck.

Grody!!! Good thing you caught this before they got into anything else.

That's why I always buy rice and pasta in the plastic bags...some comp. will still use a box and put the pasta in a plastic bag...ants are sneaky too...

We had an issue with pasta and dog food having the indian moth larve, they are the ones that stick to the pantry wall and you wonder where the heck did thes pukes come from?!
(NOW) We freeze any pasta and/or dog food that comes to our house for at least 2 days to kill the pukes. So far it has worked, no moths since then.
We do what Alyssa said. The larvae is in there and it's HOT here in Texas, which is perfect hatching conditions for them. Now we freeze all of our stuff, too...for at least 48 hours...it kills them, and we haven't had a problem since.
I've had weavels hatch out of pasta numerous times.
Got to the point...that i just fished them out of the water....before boiling..

ewwww that's so gross!!!
I put my pasta, rice, cake mix (basically anything boxed/bagged) in baggy (or sealed container) with 2-3 green Bay Leaves ... also have in the flour container I use. Don't know why, but bugs don't like it.
Bay Leaves aren't real cheap, but a small bottle goes a long way and lasts long time. (I never have room in freezer.)
So you guys are telling me I need to toss my stockpile of pasta if it's been sitting in my pantry for a few months and I didn't freeze it first? I seriously can't do bugs...ewww.
