I have messed up on my count and went to CS and they did let me add items to get the $5.00 mega price. You can try.

I went to KG today and I bought the 10/10 Kraft Cheese and what not. I went ahead and got the tyson nuggets, assuming they'd be 3.99 as stated, I asked the cashier if it rung up that way and she said yes. But when I got home and went over my reciept they rang up as 4.49! There is a + next to the item, which says its a mega item, but why did it ring up as 4.49? Am I reading it wrong? Like I said I'm new to couponing.

During mega sale the discount or sale price rings up as ONE lump discount at the bottom of your receipt. If you look at your receipt, you should have a line that reads the following
    $5 off mega event - $5

If you were to buy 10 items that have that (+) sign on your receipt, you will get a line on your receipt
$5 off mega event - $5 for each 10 items

That essentially equates to .50 off per item so in your case, yes your Tyson rang 4.49 but became 3.99 when you take .50 off

I hope you returned the extra items. I would also report you CS person to management or report it to corp. Corp sends down instructions for fixing a miscount after the transaction. I can't believe they told you no.

Frugal, not to worry ... as with many things, practice and repetition is "good for the soul"! Don't get discouraged, and keep coming back and reading and asking! As ZM said, we were all beginners once ... and still have days where our brains are "off" sometimes on items!

Couponing is like raising kids or a garden ... in the beginning, takes a lot of work and thought (and sometimes, "regrouping"), but it WELL worth the finished product!! You'll soon be griping because a store wants you to pay more than 10¢ (or less) for a $2-3 item!! (your friends will think your nuts, but we won't!!)

    Hang in there!

I takes time and practice to get where Jaws is talking about but you can do it eventually. Jumping right in and expecting it to happen is wishful thinking.

    tips:

read ALL the faqs and familiarize yourself with the policies of the stores you shop at and how to use coupons

read others scenarios and see what qs they are using and what their oop is.

    read

    take notes

    read again

let it sink in and then form any questions you may have
