How much do Ithee? Let me count the coupons
Hey there Green!! Let me just say I'm so ready for 2010 to be much much better than 2009. DH and I are on the road to recovery and it can only get better. I've missed all you guys and actually feel like I've come back home to some awesome friends.
How much do Ithee? Let me count the coupons
Weird. I can say that at 9 am they did not have them and at 10:30 am they still did not have them. Checked with an employee before the manager said the people who deliver them said they wanted 1.25 a paper now so they are trying to negotiate a price and that they would not have any. The store was only paying 75 cents a paper previously. There is only one store in Conroe, so I am not sure how you were so lucky. I do know the man who is contracted to sell them the papers (according to the manager) was there at 10:30 and sold some in the parking lot for $1.25. Not sure if he pays for the papers and then tries to sell them to the stores or if he represented the Chronicle. Either way, $1.25 is still better than $2!
Yep, I went there last weekend and no more papers. That sure was nice while it lasted!
I have a friend that used to have 5 Sunday Chronicles thrown at her house. She said that when she signed up for another year of service that the Chronicle said that she could keep her $1 per paper rate. Well, once the Chron went to $2 they jacked her rates up on her delivery as well. She called to complain and they said they wouldn't honor the previous price. She now only has 1 paper thrown instead of 5. Chron must be hurting for cash. If advertisers aren't using the Chron anymore and classified sales are down due to Craigslist then the cash has to come from somewhere. Hence the bump in price.
I've asked at several places if they will sell their old papers at a discount, or just give away the coupons. I've read many times where papers in other cities only require the front page of the paper to give a credit to the outlet.
Apparently, though, the Chronicle requires the entire paper.
