In my ad, inside single page, top line, 2nd from LT shows Betty Crocker Potatoes Selected Varieties 3.3oz pouch 50¢* ... HOWEVER, I went to Kroger @ Mason & 99 today and was looking at items -- the pouches were not marked for Mega ... the boxes were (didn't notice oz) marked $1.49<0.50> = $0.99. List that (sorry, forgot who posted) was posted a couple pages before this lists Betty Crocker specialty Potatoes, so I'm guessing the boxes are "specialty" potatoes.

Forgot to look if there were any signs posted at door to say any changes in mega deals ... wasn't a sign on the BC potatoes saying any change from circular ad ... I'm confused, too.


[btw, if you're looking for Qs/tearpads, don't bother going to Mason @ 99 ... maybe SS hasn't been in there yet, but NO blinkies, think I found ONE tearpad. Since I wasn't shopping, if it weren't for double-checking megas and dates, would've been a wasted trip -- unless they're hiding them from me ... always a possibility!]

lol i actually figured it out a lil while ago. i knew i remembered seeing the potatoes in my ad..so i looked again and yep theyre in the ad that was mailed to me but NOT in the store ad..theyre DIFFERENT! the ad i got at that store said its valid only at that store. makes sense lol. the ad used to have that store listed at the bottom too, im not sure what changed but i wish i wouldve known that before i went n made myself look stupid lol

Might want to stock up on Sunday papers for the Qs .. (besides PG insert), in the early ones I got for Houston area, there were Hormel pepperoni, Pepp. Farm Baked Natural crackers, Glade jar AND one for B2G1 S/O candle refill packs (the little round waxy type), Kleenex $0.50/3, Carnation Evap $0.50/2, ??Keebler Crackers any 7.7oz $1.00/2, (supposed to be Nestle Toll House morsel, but early inserts didn't have), PG had all the kinds of Metamucil Qs.

Saw some things that weren't on Amni's or (darn it, wish I could remember who posted) ?? other list ... also, noticed some end dates on tags were 11/3, 11/10, 11/11, 11/18, 11/17 -- some even into December and later -- guessing the ones past 11/10/09 mean the price before mega disct is gonna be the price until (i.e., 11/11, 11/17, 11/18, etc.). Think that's how it was with last mega when they had different end dates past the mega sale.

UNLESS I LOOKED AT SIGNS WRONG:
ALSO, go down school/office supply aisle ]M$ = mega price (after discount)... Pilot G2 pens 2pk $1.49M$ to 11/4; Five Star Notebooks (didn't notice ct), no date, $3.49M$; looked like ALL the Scotch tape products were mega'd (to 11/4).

ALSO, don't overlook baby aisle I guess it's called -- Johnson No tangle $2.99M$, Powder, oil gel, bath "soap", bed lotion all on mega, different prices, too many for me to note.
Other customers and store people were really beginning to look at me (guess they thought I was spying from another store or something) ... little did they know, I was just trying to verify information so I could come shop more wisely!! -- If they'd just put everything in ONE ad with end dates, it'd make life easier! -- ZM, how bout that for a question for Consumer Affairs lady!! GIVE US A COMPLETE list with prices and end dates!!!!

Also, think in HBA, Desitin, Q tips, Right guard on mega.

Didn't look in refrigerated area, don't know what's on mega there that isn't on either list.


So, don't overlook those other mega items!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For cryin' out loud ... is THAT how they're gonna compete with HEB?? Make different ads for every store? That's ----- ridiculous. Not only for US, but imagine the time and work the people that program the computers are spending, little signage expense for different signs at different stores ... and THAT's going to lower my grocery prices?????? -- ZM, yet another question for Consumer Affairs lady.

Looking at my mailed ad, it doesn't list the store at 99&Mason ... and the ad I picked up while there says, "Prices Effective at your 8011 Grand Parkway South @ Mason Rd, Richmond Kroger Store". Haven't really looked at it so don't know what prices are different from mailed ad (which, of course, lists stores in Houston, Cypress, and around the BW area ... and I live in "hicksville"!! Go figure!)

ZM, might tell CA lady mega sales should be uniform throughout the district, people work in one area and live in another. Not everybody shops at home or at work location. -- This AIN'T a good way to compete with HEB.

I had an issue with BC potatoes yesterday as well. I brought my mom with me so we could both check out. She and I got the SAME exact BC potatoe pouches. Hers rung up as part of the mega deal and mine did not. Luckily, the pouches were marked at my store as part of the mega deal so I didn't have a problem getting my 5.00 refund but had to stand in line at CS desk FOREVER to get it done!

Sorta off topic but I need to comment and vent..... It drives me up a wall to be in line for CS and the line is full of people paying their utility bills!!! Why can't they just mail them in and leave CS desk open for people who actually have grocery store business. Okay, vent over, I feel better now.

I had the same problem last night with the BC pouch potatoes! They were in the ad, and they were marked on the shelf. Not to mention I had purchased these same potatoes on Wed. and they worked just fine. Too bad it was around midnight, and the U-Scan guy was less than helpful. He insisted that the shelf signs didn't matter, because the ad said selected varieties and I didn't purchase exactly what was shown in the flyer. The kicker? When I got home I looked at the ad closer and I did purchase one of the kinds shown and it didn't ring up as a mega sale item.

Needless to say, I will be going to the CS counter this morning to get my $5 back. Actually $10, because I had two separate orders.

The store at Barker Cypress & 529 was wiped out of Ricola, and the $2.19 Rolaids were almost gone. Also, the tuna is looking a little low, and there were only a few Turkey Chili left. I'm sure they will be restocking, but I have yet to find the Ricola at this store.

Interesting. i had problems with the Betty Crocker potatoes also on yesterday. Same store and same potatoes I had purchased on Wed and Thursday. They were clearly marked at the store. After 10-15 minutes the manager finally told the cashier to just key in the $5 discount. The cashier initially tried to tell me I had to get th box potatoes. I only had 10 items (3) BC, (6) gatorades and (1) All. The potatoes rang up $1. The discount just didn't come off. I'm going back to that store shortly to see what happens. This was the Mesquite store on Gus Thomason if anyone is interested. I hope this was just a fluke or just limited to that store. I have several more stores I can shop at. I got more BC coupons coming

Dial bar soap is supposedly on sale for 1.39 - Does anyone know if that is part of the mega 10 sale to get that price - or if it is just that price right now?
