I have NEVER received overage on just paper coupons, they have always autoadjusted down.
The only way I have been able to get overage is with the mega deal since the items ring up a higher price and then the $ comes off as a lump sum
I'm curious if it's just the store I was in tonight (well, last night now) or if they've changed the registers region/nationwide on this.
I was in buying a few things, spam singles among them, which are on sale for 89¢ each, used the 35¢ Q ... when it tripled, the "triple" (bonus) amount was only 54¢, for a total in Qs of 89¢.
I'm not complaining, was still free, but just wondering if anyone else has noticed on their receipts???
(Are any of y'all beginning to wonder if they want me to bring home this spam? I'm being good and going to get it ... didn't ask them to bring it to me ... jeez!!)
[PS, cashier I got at Rosenberg store was going to stop the machine from tripling 2nd and 3rd spam Qs ... "no thank you, take those 2 off and return my Qs, please". So, registers are still doing 3 d/t, apparently store manager making cashiers stop it, again. Then, again, this guy wasn't real thrilled that, after buying 12 packs of gums on BOGO sale, I was also using 3 BOGO Qs on the 6 I was being charged for ... started to tell me I couldn't do it ... guess he could tell I had a splitting headache and wasn't in the mood to be messed with, 'cuz, he decided just to use to Qs!]
Guess I'll be going to Katy and stockpiling ... they do/did like my 3-like Qs over there!!! Haven't heard any yelling/screaming that those stores are going to 1-like d/t, so assume they want business still!!
DH is the "Gum Man" at work, and those folks chew a lot of gum. So gum & spam ... what a combination!Guess I could tell the cashiers when they look at it funny, "Trick or Treat's comin' up ... gum is the treat; spam is the trick!"

huh? for real? ... WOW, I guess I was special, because I'm sure this is the first time I ever had a Q adjust down to sales price instead of regular price (and, I'll have to look back on shopping sheets, but thought I was getting FULL Q amount, even if created overage ... but, maybe not).
... asking about it because wondering if they are doing Qs based on sales price rather than sales price now ... if so, that's going to change some things, example: (prices may not be accurate, just an example)
Kraft dressing: reg $1.69, sale $1.19
If Qs are now based on sales price, then couldn't use a $1.50Q ... Q would have to be less than $1.19 -- this is the type of purchase where I got most overages on paper Qs!!
Same as ZM, for me!
... okay ... y'all got me to wondering if I'd truly lost my mind ... looking back on some of my shopping sheets, turns out only partially lost it, because there have been times when Q d/t up to sale price; others up to regular price ...
Guess I was thinking more of when there are mega sales and they deduct 50¢ ... between that, Q, and price I've had overages + SC, CF ...
(and, I'd forgotten that the previous Spam single Qs were 25¢ and I was paying $0.24 per package ... either way, FREE is better!!)
... see what happens when ya get old and you're giving several people a "piece of your mind" all within a month??!!! ... That musta been mixed in with one the "pieces" I "gave"!!
my bad!
