QUESTION Using a Walgreens Register Reward/Manufacturer's Coupon at Kroger - Easy, Never Again or YMMV?

Hi everyone. I haven't seen this posted - has anyone tried to use a Walgreens Manufacturer's coupon (Register Reward) at Kroger?

I have so many of these that I thought I would try to use them at Kroger and I was wondering what your experiences have been?

    Thanks!

I don't get a lot of Cats, but (several months back) I did have a MQ cat from Kroger for something (who remembers what?!), I read the back of it ... the "Retailer: blah, blah, blah" and it read the same as coupons ... so I used it when I went to HEB. The cashier looked at it, and I pointed out the "Retailer: ..." and explained that it said same thing as Qs. -- It didn't beep.

    Have no idea, though.

I don't know what policy is ... IF there IS a policy on that.
I could make the argument that it's the same as a "Redeem Only at ..." Q, where the "Retailer: ..." says the same as any other MQ.

Does anyone have Catalina's email handy? I'm guessing that, since THEY issue them, THEY could tell us for sure if these MQcats are intended to be used at any store.

Now ... whether the store will accept it (the question posed here) may be a "whole 'nuther story"!

If your store(s) accept competitor coupons, it shouldn't be a problem. However, if they don't they may not accept it, as some stores view them as such. It's YMMV thing. I know I've accidentally used one store's cat at another and it's taken, no problem, but they can refuse to take it.

HAPPY DANCE Re: Using a Walgreens Register Reward/Manufacturer's Coupon at Kroger - Easy, Never Again or YMMV?

Update: I went to the Kroger manager first and asked if I could use the Walgreens RR/Manufacturer's Q, and he scanned it and since it scanned he said yes. So I went to get some items to buy worth $5. I had a $5 RR/Manufacturer's Q from walgreens but when it was scanned the total was negative -$0.41, so the manager called another manager who said that I couldn't use it. I felt like they should have honored my coupon at that point, but I got the impression that one manager didn't want to "look bad" in front of another.

Therefore, I plan to contact corporate once and for all to get the final answer. In fact, that's what the 1st manager should have done to settle the issue - call corporate. They all have cell phones don't they?

I will keep you posted. It would certainly be convenient if they did.

When you contact corporate, you might want to ask if they accept:

    1. Register Rewards, dollars off Catalinas issued by manufacturer -- which equates to Kroger's "xx" off your next order catalinas

    2. Regular $1.00/1, etc. off specific item (Charmin toilet paper, whatever) Catalinas issued by manufacturer.

They may say yes on one, no on the other, but at least you'll know for sure!

It doesn't directly answer the question, but this is what I finally got back from corporate on 9/15 about the registers not being re-set (they totally missed the problem ...) ... I had written a complaint post the the Kroger site in mid-August, before contacting Ruth ... so I wouldn't expect a speedy response.
