    QUESTION automatically no overages?

Not sure if anyone has already brought this up (I didn't see it when I searched), but has anyone else noticed that now when you buy an item that is less than the amount of the coupon the coupon only doubles or triples up to the price of the item automatically? Ex. I bought something that was $0.99. The coupon I used was $0.50. I watched as the register rang up a $0.50 coupon and then automatically added a $0.49 bonus coupon instead of the normal $0.50 bonus coupon when doubling. It wasn't the cashier doing it. The system automatically did it. Anyone else seeing that or is it just maybe how my store's registers are now programmed? It use to never do that!

Dang I work so hard to find overages and now I can't seem to get them anymore. I know I know I should just be happy that I have coupons and they double....but I'm kind of disappointed now that I can't get overages anymore lol.

I noticed this also. Last week when I was getting the brownie mix the register did it not the cashier. But it's ok with me, free is still good!

I noticed it a couple of weeks ago when the Brut deo was $1 and I had a $0.55 coupon. It automatically took the .55 and then "doubled" the coupon to .45. Still free, but no overage! I thought it had always been this way, though. Only because I'm still new at this!

As far as I know Kroger has always done this. Now I have found if the register ask the cashier for a price and the coupon has one they can put in the whole amount and you will get overage. EX: not to long ago there was a q out for $1 off mylanta/rolaids. I found them on clearence for .95 the register beeped and the cashire put in the $1 stated on the q.

I think its because of the Double /triple thing... one comes from the manufacturer one comes from Kroger and Kroger is going to give you only up to the price of the item.

Yeah, it's always been this way at my Kroger. When there is a sale, like the Daytona, where you buy "x" and receive an automatic $5 off your purchase..there is where overage opportunities exist!

Yes, my Kroger does this as well. I'm not complaining though. However, one time I did get an overage of 0.02 - I was buying the 99 cent Huggies wipes with 50 cent coupons (which doubled). I just handed the two pennies back to the cashier.

I have noticed this too on the 50 cent coupons, but I think the 35 cent coupons still triple with a 70 cent bonus coupon. Or at least it did at my Kroger the last time I bought something for 99 cents (I think it was the brownie mix a couple wks ago).

I have found this to be true for many stores.
