    X hurricane Ike check-in

I want to make this post to for all of us members her in Houston and surrounding area's that got hit by Ike to check in, let us know that yall are ok, what happened, or anything just so we know that everyone is ok. I know that alot of us has power outage but whenever everyone gets a chance just to let everyone know that yall are ok.

If yall want to see some of the news on it and what damage has been done go to http://www.myfoxhoustonlive.com/ they are broadcasting it live and showing damages and news about the hurricane.

I am checking in, not much damage here in Waller, we were without power for about 3 hours, alot of tree limbs are down, but like a small town there isn't much going on. My family are all ok, I am worried about my G-Aunt who lives in Clear Lake(one of the places that got hardest hit). But we are all good here. I hope that everyone makes it thru ok.

There is another thread that has a lot of activity in it about Ike and the users in the area.

You might check there too for messages.

    Here's the link:

Another place to look for messages from those affected would be the Texas Social Group. There's a link in my signature.

I left home Friday afternoon and have been at work in the medical center since then. I left my two dogs in the laundry room and a bathroom at the center of the house. (They're too big to bring with me to stay in the pet room at the hospital). So, I'm sure they'll be ready to get out. I'll see what damage there is to my house in Cypress when I get home this morning.

My father evacuated to his brother's home in central Louisiana, so I also have to go by my father's to assess the damage there. His house is an older, all wood house surrounded by large trees, so I'm more nervous about what I'll find there than at my house.

we made it thought okay, only damage was to our grape vine trellis. We lost power for more than 14 hours.

I am not sure if I should toss everything in my fridge or not.

so many stores are still closed around here it looks like a ghost town.

Thankfully we made out okay also, even though there were some scary moments. Some sections of our fence are down but the roof is in-tact. Our nieghbors also suffer from broken fence and some roof damage. We lost power for about 19 hours and our kids suffer a bit. Fortunately we got power at 7p.m last night and are just so thankful for it.

I have returned and my house is still here, and still a mess, lol.

No major damage, just one fence down and branches in the yard. We have power and water, my sisters house made it ok too, but she has no power. Im glad to be home. Hope everyone else is ok!
