You can also fill the washer with water for the potty.

I am about as ready for the storm as i ever can be, I am up on cruches (from having surgery) so this ought to be quiet a experience:hectic1:. I am trying to decide if we should go to my moms house since we live in a trailer home (my parent live in a house). We are far NW Harris co. so we will get alot of it but not the brunt of it. ARRRGGGHHHH NO HCW(how will I ever survive):question1: I am going to go thru major withdrawl's cause I know it isn't going to be IF the electric goes out, it is only going to be WHEN. I hope my mom has her laptop battery charged up cause I am going to be on it(lol).

I hope everyone stays safe and remember to evac your coupons, stockpiles, kids, spouse, and dogs (yes in that order)

HEY won't they have some good sales afterwards on things that they overstocked on before the storm???:beg3:
    Shannon mother of 3 :hectic1: with 2 new addition's. aren't they cute
Good friends are who you wish were your family, and your family you wish lived in another galaxy

Shannon, I think it would be best to head to your mom's for the brunt of the storm, just in case! Be safe, girl!

Yep we're in Sugar Land and we're as ready as we're going to be. My brother let me borrow his extra generator for my freezer-can't let my stockpile get ruined! I've filled up all our extra water bottles and empty milk containers and my washer, too. All I have left is to clean out the boys bathtub and fill it up. I also put my coupons, family pictures, important documents and external harddrive in a large rubbermaid container for safe keeping.
Everyone be safe and take care.

    From the apartment management

    Dear Residents,

Due to Hurricane Ike coming this weekend, there are some precautionary actiosn that should be taken place. Please remove anything off of your patios and balconies you don't feel like losing.... I'm sorry I laughed... then it goes on to say that they won't be in office tomorrow because of the storm and that we should be stocked with flashlights, batteries, candles, and water.

omg I just about died when it actually said to move anything we don't feel like losing. You would think they would say it different but it was hilarious...

Went a couple times to get "survival" stuff - tuna, hot dog buns, milk, etc...

All I could think about when looking at the empty shelves is "rain check, rain check rain check, rain check." A perfectly good sale and there is NOTHING from the mega sale on the shelves.

However, between Thursday night and Friday morning they restocked everything AND got ice. Bottled water was everywhere and ready for the taking. I really like this new Krogers - they have done a great job!

    mommybdj,
at our house it's: (kids, if we had any), fur-kids, coupons, then spouse! Just about everyone in my family has stockpiles, only we didn't know what they were called. Mom was a farm-girl ... you always buy extra for when times are bad!
