It's kind of confusing I might of had it backwards in my original post but basicly what is happening is the coupons are deducting from all the food. There for yes your food stamp balance is lower out of pocket but you end up spending your own money to cover the difference which is sometimes costly considering I had items I would've gotten for free after triple coupons and just to clarify when we go shopping it's for her not me so no I'm not buying a bunch of non-food items for myself but I do for her!
And when you say we're missing out on alot of savings by separating are you referring to the sometimes computer glitches like when you purchase say laundry detergent on clearance it won't pick up that your using a lone star card and will let you pay for it with the lonestar card??? Well that's not what the card is intended for so I really don't want to take the chance of her starving because the government bought her laundry detergent. No thanks!
I would much rather separate and know that we're not commiting fraud and only purchasing what's allowed because honestly I freaked out when the above scenerio happened and called them and told them what happened.
