Default Best price for bonless/skinless chicken breasts

I am totally new to this! I know this week at Kroger, they have the bogo on the chicken breasts. Is this a good price to get alot? So often, I get dupped on what I *think* is a good deal, and it turns out I just feel for the advertising ploy.

TIA! :)

If you eat chicken and buy chicken...it's not a bad deal!

If you have any of the .55 off pilgrims pride that came out 5/4 then it's an even better deal. I normally find the skinless chicken breasts for around 4.50 and use 2 of those coupons, so I get 2 packs of chicken breast for $3.40!!

I am out of those coupons now though and coincidentally, I am out of chicken. SIGH

Kroger seems to do this chicken deal at least once a month so you have time to search/trade/borrow/steal those .55 coupons to make it a sweet deal.

I usually won't pay more than 1.99 lb if they are gonna skin and de-bone it for me, but that is my high end price. HTH

I think this is an ok price. I think it all depends on the persons needs. This is the only type of chicken we can eat. DH has very high blood pressure and the Tyson is all natural with no growth hormones and lower in sodium.

I am actually marinating chicken as I type I usually buy organic meats and I can typically find boneless skinless breasts on manager's special for 4.99 - 5.39 per lb (regular price is 8.29). Most of the time I can find a peelie on some meats in the dept for $2 off organic private selection meats (they also print as catlinas sometimes) so I can get a 1lb package for 3.39. Just in case anyone is interested in organic prices!

Zoey's Mom has the right idea, instead of looking at "per pack" prices, look at per POUND prices and then you'll be sure to get good deals every time. I usually do meat manager specials and pay between .49 and .79 per pound for whole cut up or legs/thighs. I'll pay up to 1.99 if I need boneless skinless breasts, but I prefer to stock up when I get them for 1.49 per pound or less. Honestly, I don't like Kroger's meat as well as Albertsons. It's probably just my store. It's older and the cases leave a lot to be desired. Plus, the cuts don't seem as generous.
