?? Double/ triple coupons??

Hi all,

What are these triple/double coupons at Kroger and how do they work?

Kroger triples manufacturers coupons up to and including .39
Kroger doubles manufacturers coupons up to and including .50

So they scan in the orignal and then either double/triple the amount up to $1.
so if you have a 30 cent coupon, your total off product would be .90

So any coupong 39 cents and below is tripled, while 50 cents is just doubled - the max being a dollar?

Yes
So say you have a coupon for $.35 it will triple to $1.05 off.
$.25 will triple to be $.75 off. I personally have not seen a $.39 coupon but Ive gotten $.40 q's but then those will only double to $.80 off.

Let's pretend that you have 5 coupons, (exactly the same), for $.35 off of Bounty paper towels.

If you hand all five to the cashier, he/she will only triple the first three coupons. The other two will be subtracted as face value.

The way that you get around this, is to use the other two, (of the five coupons), in a separate transaction.

In other words: Only the first three, (of like coupons), will be double/tripled. You will only get the face value of the last two if you hand them all over for use in one transaction.

Was that as clear as mud???

You know for the longest time I had it in my head Kroger only took 2 like coupons to double or triple and late last year it was pointed out to me they take 3. Even today I have to remind myself they take 3. Im not sure where I got that number 2 from.

bkmomto3 Thank you so much for breaking this down. I should have checked here before I brought all those boxes of cereal the other day. I had coupon's for them all, and thought I was getting them all doubled or tripled. But now I know only the first three coupon's were. Well you learn something new everyday. :)

You're welcome. I've only learned this in the last month because of this website. Glad that I could help someone out. I make errors all the time, especially if my kids are with me. You know, I still hand over 4 coupons and realize, once I return home, that only three were double/tripled. Don't beat yourself up over it.
