MFC on Manager Special

A few weeks ago I purchased several managers specials and used mfc's. The manager was called over by the cashier to question if coupons could be used since my coupon was for more that the price of the item. The manager said I could use the coupon, they would adjust the price.

Yesterday I bought yogurt on managers special for $1.00, used a coupon for $.75 off two, and the manager on duty (different manager) said they aren't supposed to accept coupons on managers specials at all. I told her about my previous encounter, and she simply replied 'We'll do it this time'.

Does anyone know what their policy is? I read the sticky but the responses from corporate were so vague and didn't address this question. Anyone else have any experience with this type of situation? I love finding a managers special and also have a mfc to use, but if it's really wrong I won't do it.

I cant stand it when one manager says "yes" and then another says "we will do it this one time" as if you are lying UUUGGG

I had this same problem, so you probably check the Kroger Southeast thread for it. Whoever replied said that because the manager special Q had a different barcode than the original package, the Q didn't "recognize" it. You had the item, you had the Q, you should have been able to use it without problem. I bet few managers know that.

Unfortunately I cannot get a clear answer for this one from the District Office. Most stores I go to will push the coupons through, some will not. In the case they won't I just tell them that is fine, I will not buy the products and they can throw them away instead. Sometimes that "persuades" them to go ahead and push the coupons through.

I almost had a run in last night with my manager's special Tropicana Lemonade. It was only a dollar. I had a $1 off coupon and the lady told me I couldn't use it for my product. I told her that doesn't make sense, because the mf coupon does not specify when you can and can't use the coupon. She agreed with my theory and took the dollar off. Like someone just said on this thread, it has to do with the barcode.

Yep, all managers specials will beep. It depends on your store whether they will choose to accept it or not.

I purchased some manager's special things at my Kroger awhile back. Somehow they scanned the item and then adjusted the price. The computer still recognized the item, so my coupons didn't beep. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was. (I also ended up with four jars of salsa at .15 ea!)

Well, I will keep trying until I receive something that says a definate NO! I'm getting better at finding these bargains and don't want to let them slip away!!!
