Just a FYI, Publix does not limit 10 per transaction. Certain stores may but storewide there are no limits.
Kroger maybe hurt by this new policy. Time will tell. Hopefully Publix will not follow suit.
Many of you may already know, but I didn't see it posted so I thought I'd share. Kroger in the Southeast Region has updated their official coupon policy to reflect the one recently updated in the Cincinnati area, limiting to 5 like coupons per transaction. While the policy lists a number of things, this is the only real change.
I will have an official copy to share tomorrow, but having seen it today I can say that it is essentially identical to this one:
I really don't have a problem with it, I'm actually glad they're putting some sort of limits in place. I wish the limit was 10 like Publix, but I don't think it will really change much for us personally. If I need more than 5 items, I'll just make a couple of trips in a week.
What do you think?

They must feel that coupons are a hassle. I agree with wookin, folks will be shopping elsewhere.

Thanks for the clarification - you are correct. The official Publix policy only states that they reserve the right to limit quantities. The Publix stores in our area (Atlanta and north) all limit to 10 like items, so I forget that it is not company-wide.
I am not positive that the new Kroger policy spans the entire Southeast, just the Atlanta Region, which is AL, GA, SC, and eastern TN. Perhaps someone else can chime in from another area to confirm...

I don't mind going to publix instead. Too bad that my local publix is quite small, but I could work around that.
BTW I'm 45min North-East of Atlanta and there are NO LIMITS in our stores.

I was already a mostly Publix shopper. This just reinforces that selection.
I think that the 2 IPs per MFG per day is crazy. Just think about Pillsbury and all their products or Kraft and all their products. 2 IPs per MFG... it doesn't say MFG product.
Why is this policy not online at Kroger.com? The only coupon policy (result when searching) shown is the digital coupon policy (the eQs you upload to your card).
I contacted the store I usually shop at and was told that yes this policy is coming. Not sure if it is already in force (can't remember, long week). When I made the call they hadn't even received the actual hard copy but had a conference call (if I remember correctly) regarding the new policy. This is to stop the shelf clearers and allows the regular shoppers to pick their one or two of an item (their words not mine). Personally I think it is discriminating against couponers in that someone can go in and clear the shelf and pay full price, just can't use coupons.![]()

If they bring this policy over to DFW, they will add an insult to our huge injury (no d/t)...
If this new policy is at the store I drive 30 minutes to and I want more than 5 of an item I will just take my mom or have one of my older boys to pay also.
its really not much different then the policy at the store I go to anyway other then it being 8 coupons right now instead of 5.. they have always been very picky with printables so I dont even try to use those there much anyway.

massive coupon abuse in this city makes it impossible to get anything on sale after about 1pm on sunday. maybe I can now go shopping at 2pm :D
I just do what someone above mentioned...if i need more than 5 (coupons) worth... i spread it out over the (usually) 2 week sales that kroger has
