QUESTION Kroger not doubling all coupons up to $.50?

Has anyone run into Kroger not doubling manufacturer coupons that say "do not double or triple"? I've never paid attention to which ones say it and which don't b/c they always work the same. Not a pleasant experience today - cashier was manually entering my coupons that said "do not double". When I asked why she said they had been told to manually enter them so they didn't double. Talked to a supervisor and he had her scan them (much to her dismay - about which she voiced to the next customer in line after I completed my order! )

I went on Kroger's website but can't find an official coupon policy - anybody know of one?

Kroger coupon policy is by store. And pretty much by cashier in my opinion. Kroger's are weird. You just gotta find the nice cashiers, some of them are just plain meanies.. (and there are a few at Publix, but much more rare)....

There is one Kroger on Delk Road that doesn't double more than one coupon of the same type. Which I have never heard of before.. So really its by store...

Thanks for the perspective - that's helpful. I'm going to talk to the main store manager today to get her verbal policy at least. Hate being made to feel like a criminal for using a $.50 coupon!!

To be fair, I know it's frustrating but from the cashier's perspective, she's just trying to follow verbatem what the coupon says. I know you could argue that the only reason it says that is to make sure retailer's know they won't double the reimbursement (I've seen that said before), but if it says "do not double" then I can totally understand why the cashier would think it shouldn't be doubled.

I know it's frustrating for cashiers when managers tell them "follow the coupon exactly" and then in front of the customer they change it to make the customer happy. The cashiers are kind of between a rock and a hard place.

I agree. I've had this happen with coupons that start with a 9 and them not double (I knew they wouldn't). Kroger has a 4 foot wide by 6 foot long banner hanging from the ceiling about doubling all coupons up to 50¢. I've never not got my money after complaining.

It's false advertisement in my book if this Kroger's doesn't double them, regardless what the coupons state.
