QUESTION Gillette - Who was WRONG???

Okay this is what I just did.

    Bought 38 Gillette Body Wash
used 18 B1G1 (buy BW get 1 Free from 6/6 pg)
also used 14 $2/1 from 8/1 PG (free paper on thursday)

Total paid: $1.37 for 38 bodywashes

However the first transaction went like this before she cancelled it and started over:

    38 BW
    used 19 BOGO
    used 19 $2/1
    overage of $12.??
SO SHE SAID THATS NOT RIGHT AND REDID THE TRANSACTION AND I PAYED THE ABOVE AND TOOK AWAY SOME COUPONS.

DID I TO THIS TRANSACTION RIGHT OR DID I BASICALLY "GET OVER"?

well you ended up with a ton of body wash for just over $1...

your first transaction was fine, EXCEPT, you should of added stuff to cover the overage. then she wouldnt of notice it.

Yes I know, but I'm so brand new to coupons and didn't realize it till I saw the -12. Darn I could've gotten some more Ground Turkey with that overage...lol

Well, I still have a few more BOGO and ton's of $2/1 so I'll go back later today and try it again..but this time have other items for the overage.

I think I had the same cashier as you OP. Just got home and rocked this one out.
    8 OS Body Wash
    8 Gillette Body Wash
    20 Ivory Body Wash
    24 Crest TP
    1 bread
    1 hot dog bun
    1 english muffin
paid .03 and saved with card including sale savings, blah blah was $177.87, supposed to pay $3.33 just in tax but she wouldn't listen and insisted on taking $4.49 off for 4 bogo Gillette coupons and tried to take 3.88 for OS but register wouldn't let her so got 4 OS with $2.99. Imagine my surprise when the total was .03. Had a 24 pk of water on hold just in case we needed it but put it back.

Looks like you rocked on this deal, but where did you get a free paper on Thursday with P&G Q's? You got 14 of them?

I'm guessing the $12 overage initially was because she didn't input the price correctly. From doing multiple transactions with the Gillette and OS BW's this week, I've learned some are very meticulous, and some just...aren't.
Sometimes they'll take off the NON sale price, and sometimes the'll cop an attitude about giving me the B1G1 AT the sale price w/coupon, and sometimes, they just do it correctly and take off the sale price with no hassle

    Great order!!!!

Thanks!! I went back and bought 20 more (16 gillette and 4 OS)
    used:
    5 - B1G1
    2 - OS 2/1
    9 - Gillette $2/1

The manager rang me up and only took off $1.99 per B1G1 and busted my coupons from $2 to $1.99. I smiled and didn't say anything (as she said that the overage shouldn't have happened) and went to customer service and showed and explained to her that SHE should have taken off $2.99 x 5 (b1g1 Q) not the $1.99 x 5 and she then went to talk to the actual store manager and he said that was correct and she gave me back $9 and some change.

I got 90 papers. My sub divison gets FREE papers on Thursday and my delivery guy leaves me 3 stacks (30 in each stack)on my porch each Thursday as he gets too many stacks when he gets is route. I say, get to know your delivery person (most people get the FREE paper Tues - Thurs) and ask them for extra's.

    Holy Mother.
    90?!?!
I see a coupon clipping business in your future! LOL
I am in an apartment, and we don't even have a paper delivery! The best I can do is buy the Sunday paper (or any other day of the week) at the $1 store for, well, $1.

I'm also shocked your store even HAD that many BW's!! I went to 3 stores, just to fulfill my measly 12 or so!!
