Kroger's systems are some of the best if not the best. I have never, and I mean ever found a way to get overage unless combing online and insert/blinkies/peelies to get overage.
Today at Kroger I tried to buy two Johnson and Johnson products that were marked down to .77 each. And then I had a $3/2 coupon. They would not let me use the coupon because they said they couldn't pay me to buy their products. I have gotten overage before but only when I have used a paper coupon and an online coupon together... so maybe the just didn't notice since it was an online coupon. Is this a YMMV thing or is this at every kroger?

Couponing in Metro Atlanta!!!!
I've gotten overage at Kroger. It was back in November and they had the Frankenberry/Booberry Fruit Roll-ups on clearance for .20 or so. I bought 10, had 5-$.50/2 coupons and bought a gallon of milk with the overage.
This was in Mid-Atlantic region, so maybe it's different? Or maybe I got overage because it was only because the coupons doubled. I don't know but it was sweet!
I also have gotten overage at Kroger it was on a super mega sale item combined with a coupon, but it is very rare to get overage at kroger.

Very rare. I don't think your problem was combining the paper and the electronic. The problem is usually markdown stuff doesn't seem to match up for the coupon since it has a different barcode. The cashier can push it though, and some cashiers are able (if they want to) adjust the coupon down. Get to know which cashiers are coupon friendly and if they say they use coupons too, try to throw them an extra coupon or two if its a really good deal. I also praise my cashiers up and down loudly when they are coupon friendly. In time you will see who has what attitude.

I get a little overage on something almost every time I shop. I think it really depends on your cashier.
And as the previous poster stated...a lot of times the markdowns don't match up with the coupons because the UPC is different. I've had some cashiers push these through, and some don't. Very YMMV.

I only get overage if the cashier manually pushes the q through. Most of the times, they do. I usually don't try to get overage there b/c I know the registers will beep. I love the overage on the online qs and paper qs!!! :)

My Kroger is super easy to deal with on everything, I guess I'm lucky. I never have problems, when anything beeps they always push it through with no questions or inspections. I play by the rules and all the cashiers know that so they know I'm not going to try to pull one over on them. I'm in the store several times a week too so they all know me by now. I'm glad I have a Kroger store that is so close to home and that is coupon friendly and has a great staff. Makes for a pleasant shopping experience!
In love with my wonderful husband!!
Just tried to use my $1.00/1 cottonelle coupon and they wouldn't let me use it on the 4-pack at 99 cents. They said they couldn't give me overage and they couldn't adjust it down either :o( Will try another Kroger tomorrow I guess.
